Conservative Intimidation of Sponsors for Maher's Milwaukee Concert 7/24

A perpetually offended conservative Milwaukee blogger, with the help of a local right-wing talk show host, has managed to intimidate one of the corporate sponsors to pull its name and logo from anything having to do with Bill Maher's show in Milwaukee on July 24th. The reason for the outrage in this case is, supposedly, Maher's "anti-Christian bigotry."

Problem is, this blogger is more than happy to support John McCain without a single complaint regarding Rev. Hagee. This blogger links approvingly to another local blogger who regularly insults Islam, Muslims, immigrants, and minorities with vulgar slurs. This local blogger lauded a local university for sponsoring talks by the virulently anti-Muslim Walid Shoebat and David Horowitz.

In other words, this blogger is a whiny hypocrite who, because he does not care for Bill Maher's politics, has used religion as a smokescreen to brow-beat a popular local retailer into disavowing its previous commitments and to threaten the performance itself.

The local blogger is here:

Several of us good guys have offered our takes on the idiocy and hypocrisy:

http://illusorytenant.blogspot.com/2008/05/triumph-for-dissembling-hypocrites.html

We will be starting a counter campaign to convince the retailer that it's been conned by said whiny hypocrite, but I wanted to post this here for his national fans.

Oh Jeez, so many WEIRD things are done in the name of religion. Surely a curse upon mankind.

It will be interesting to see how ol' Bill handles this....
