They are shocking images. There is footage of beatings, their aftermath, and the indifference of Israel's security forces to serious human rights abuses. There is footage too of those same security forces humiliating Palestinians ? and most seriously ? committing abuses themselves. They are contained in a growing archive of material assembled by the Israeli human rights organisation B'Tselem in a remarkable project called Shooting Back. http://www.guardian.co.uk/world/2008/jul/30/israelandthepalestinians

True and I respect him for what he has done. However 10 million is like 1000 to us. These soldiers are the ones who gave priceless parts of themselves that will never replaced and they are the heroes who will be forgotten and live the streets like 1/3 of the Viet nam vets. > I didn't read all the posts...in the middle of > cooking > > I recall Denzel's visit....and if memory serves he > also donated 10 mil to the assistance of > burned/wounded soldiers. CBaz128 oh? well then it's all ok. everybody go home! it's all ok now! We all must thank CBaz128 for helping us to see things in '' prospective'' !!!!! Even though ''she '' voted to continue this Holocaust ''war'' in 2004 -all this neocon killing & destruction to '' save the World'' perhaps she has found the ''spin'' to help her sleep at night ???? Will they all ever admit that they may have A LOT of blood on their hands ??? Will their Ego, Stupidity or perhaps plain Stubbornness ever allow them to awake & apologise ??? They all voted for G.W.Bush in 2004 to '' BRING IT ON" & NOW they try to justify it with ''hype'' !!!!! Did they all believe the -- WAR ON TERROR HYPE -- that was presented to them ???? Never mind the Holocaust they have brought to those '' brown inferior people'' because of all those ''phoney reasons'' ???? Only 1,200,000 Dead '' Terrorists'' 4,100 + American Heroes dead & thousands crippled physically & mentally for life & MORE !!!! oh? well then it's all ok. everybody go home! it's all ok now!

I don't see any traces of those who support policies parallel to imperialism. I also don't see any traces of regrets on their decision to serve a war of choice. None of that exists. -- Edited by infoseek at 07/02/2008 10:40 PM PDT

Yes, those are horrible pictures. But, you know what else I see in those pictures? Besides the obvious propoganda? I see heroes. I see brave men and women who voluntarily joined the US Military. I don't see captions under any of those pictures that say whether or not any of those soldiers hate Bush or hate our country or regret having served their country. I don't see them holding posters or signs that say "Iraq was a waste" or "Bush sucks." In fact, I see Bush in many of those photos and those soldiers are shaking his hand, not spitting on him. I see excellent medical care. I see smiles on some of their faces, proud of their sacrifices. Yes, I see the horror of it. I see the scars. I also see the reality that those protective vests are reducing the loss of life, whereas years ago, many of those soldiers would have died. Unfortunately, yes, they've lost limbs. But, who knows? Maybe someday, some of those heroes will be holding political offices, running for Senators, maybe even President. I see that they are alive, they have survived and they will forever be heroes who should be as proud of themselves as we should all be in them.
