Iraqi nickname for American soldiers? The Jews
Source: NYTimes, article by Thomas L. Friedman of all people (dateline October 24, 2004):
Scott had gone around and asked Iraqis on the streets what they called American troops - wondering if they had nicknames for us in the way we used to call the Nazis "Krauts" or the Vietcong "Charlie." And what did he find?
"Many Iraqis have so much distrust for U.S. forces we found they've come up with a nickname for our troops," Scott said. "They call American soldiers 'The Jews,' as in, 'Don't go down that street, the Jews set up a roadblock.'

I didn't see the video but read the speeches of Byrd & McCain.
Awesome speeches on both sides.. McCain did not address Byrd's seemingly prophetic statement of our stated reason for going to war (9/11) would cast a very poor perception of the US.. McCain's argument is pretty much - Saddam sucks & we'll be considered heroes.
I guess we know who won that argument.
I also doubt such opposition existed with regards to Kosova & the other nations he mentioned "cleansing"...

Way back then they were recruiting the Irish directly off the boat.-- no green card then just the ''POVERTY DRAFT'' as always !!!!

My grandfather came over on the boat.........
he earned his citizenship by going into the service.....
