DUZAK, A 23-year-old Towson University grad, stood up, against the rules and out of turn. "My mother died of cancer six months ago because she could only afford three of her six prescription chemotherapy medications," she projected. "There are 50 million people in this country who could end up like my mom, suffering or dying because they do not have adequate health care. Everyone in this room and everyone in this country should have access to good health care." "Steele said, "People are coming to these town meetings, and they're like..." Steele then shook. He looked and gestured right at Ms. Duzak and said, "It makes for great TV. You'll probably make it tonight, enjoy it." He then turned his back to her..." by Zirn-Sept 3 for a cowardly turncoat Mikey Steal sure has enough guts to take on a little woman. isn't this behavior indicative of all GOP? they needed to slam Cindy Sheehan and Sonia Sotomayor all while opposing Lilly Ledbetter? why do the GOP hate women so much?

face, Thank you for the thread. Off context: Steele wisecracked one at a citizen who complained about current health care system. Throw in the context: Disgusting. Now, that's a real self serving piece of shit unfit to be anywhere in a government for the people, thus, even less usefulness for the boy's masters. -- Edited by infoseek at 09/07/2009 7:43 PM PDT

I can't remember the exact percentage but by a big majority women are democrats. The GOP doesn't deserve our votes. I believe their callous disregard for millions of families without health care or who are underinsured is losing them even more women's votes this year. Fine by me.

Especially if that woman is also Black... The 36 black delegates to the 2008 Republican National Convention in Minneapolis/St. Paul is the lowest total in 40 years for a Republican National Convention. These delegates represent 1.5 percent of the total number of delegates, substantially below the record setting 6.7 percent in 2004. (Editor?s note: The United States is 13% African American.) Black women in attendance is rumored to be (The RNC won't say) about 12. Only four floor passes were issued to Blacks and one of those recipients said he had to threaten the RNC to get his. -- Daniel HBO Forums Abuser

> since women are the bigger population who need single > payer and the republicans hate women, no one gets > single payer. The dems don't need a single republican vote to pass what ever healthcare reform bill they can come up with. If single payer doesn't pass, blame the dems.

The political tide continued to turn more conservative. In 1980 the Republican Party removed ERA support from its platform, and Ronald Reagan was elected president. GOP MISOGYNISTS DENY WOMEN THEIR RIGHTS

How typical. the way Steal just dismissed her is due to her gender. he would have certainly engaged a male who asked.

face The GOP is disrespectful of women, IMO. Steele probably would have the same callous response to a male telling of his father's prostate cancer death, though. The exchange is a perfect example though of the complete lack of compassion the GOP has for Americans priced out of health care. That he berated the speaker for attention seeking was just salt on the wound he already inflicted. How typical.
