Stewart vs. Maher

I've noticed a few people on this board have been comparing Jon Stewart and Bill Maher. I've also noticed that neither host will have the other on their show, or even acknowledge each other's show, even though they kinda play to the same crowd, so to speak.
Is there a feud going on here that I don't know about? Perhaps some bad blood between Stewart and Maher from the early club days? Just wondering.
I realize their shows appeal to similar demographics, but they don't directly compete with each other. So that can't be it.
Anyone got some info? thoughts?
For the record, I am more of a Jon Stewart guy.
