It doesn't take much common sense to step back and look at this concept which is :

If alcohol and cigarettes are 10 times far more fatal/lethal than a meditating tool such as marijuana, why is millions spent on keeping marijuana illegal when on a daily basis you see/hear about DUI accidents meanwhile you see/hear NOTHING about a death accident that involved marijuana?

Scientists CANNOT breakdown and pinpoint ONE bad thing about marijuana yet, they can pinpoint a 100 things inside of tobacco and tell you what kills you in the long run.

I can understand the "drug war" situation, but really, we all know the drug war involves herion, meth, crack, cocaine , all the far more lethal "drugs" than the lesser of those evils which is marijuana.
Seriously, how dumb has america gotten?

The prisons are getting filled with stoners that DONT belong with severe wrong doing individuals that have committed far more damaging-life threatening crimes.

Since when is marijuana life threatening?
Are you kidding me?!

So what if there are people out there that are against smoking weed just to calm down after a long day of work, or just to chill and watch a movie or anything recreational? Those anti- marijuana tards need to grow a brain cell and worry about themselves rather than other people, and worry about the far insane people that are out to kill, steal, and do dumbass crimes for a living.

I for one, isn't dumb enough to commit a crime and land a spot in a small ass cell with another retard.
I'm 29 years old, hearing impaired, my parents NEVER taught me much, they didn't need to, I saw things for what they really are on my own, I taught myself as I grew up in this world. I must say, its a very messed up society as it is. We got greedy , overstimulated morality politicians and we got people that want so much power to control people they dont even know, with their "axis of evil " personalities and whatnot.

I remember watching a segement on the Bill Maher show where a certain congressman decided to sign a bill to "lessen the charges of marijuana" to prevent prisons/jails from filling up with harmless stoners.
I give a big 10 to that individual, at least a person with such power has common sense

We all know Bush has been a huge fan of OIL, even way before becoming president or stepping foot in the politician land. My question would be, why in the HELL are we killing people in Iraq and surrounding countries for oil? We're supposed to be helping them help themselves [yes, i understand that Saddam was greedy and a fan of Hitler's methods of society control and whatnot], we've moved past that a bit, but lets get real here, Iraq is the 2nd largest resource of oil, we're not supposed to be killing for it, we're supposed to be helping Iraq rebuild it's democracy just like our country and other countries abroad, and bringing the world together and helping every human being on this planet live a long lasting life. We only get once chance in our lifetime to do so.

If we dont get the message out to Iraq , Iran and everywhere else around it that we just want to help them help themselves and rebuild their lives and live the way we should be living. Why should anyone suffer in their lives? It makes no sense at all.

I can only hope that should Obama be elected for president that we resolve these issues without more blood being spilled.
And blood being spilled for what, and for who? How retarded does anyone have to be?

Where has the common sense gone?

Also, I want to say, I would love to see Marilyn Manson appear on the Bill Maher show and give a piece of his mind to the media.
This is a person who is a complete genius.
I truly believe people get the wrong idea of who he is and what he's doing and what he's all about.

I am a huge fan of the show, but the next time I see Gary Shandling's name on the guest list I will NOT tune in. Real Time is one of the few places where an interesting panel can come together and debate the issues, but guests like Shandling in no way contribute to that purpose. Note to Gary- If you're only reason for coming on the show is to crack jokes, the least you could do is be mildly amusing. Your jokes missed the mark and you came off as sadly misinformed and obnoxious. Note to Bill- As the host, it's your job to shut up the idiots allowed on the panel because you couldn't find anyone more substantive to sit in the chair.

I agree with Mamietime, Gary Shandling is an idiot and holds up the show.. Do not invite this guy on anymore.. He is not funny and two, he interrupts everyone to get some stupid word in. Lets get some better people on! How about inviting Detroit Fox 2 news anchor Ron Savage or Huel Perkins to be on your show, these people have great opinions about things going on in Detroit and around the country.

Here is an idea about who to have on. Clinton or Obama

I agree. I have NEVER liked Shandling--he simply isn't funny and he doesn't know when to shut the hell up. He's an attention whore.

Great comments. I expected so much more for a finale. Shandling should be banned from this show and TV in general.

This show was horrible. I love Bill Maher but having an idiot like Shandling on was unbelievable. He likes to dominate the show like Robin Williams except with less humor. His choice for guests has went down a few levels. First of all I think he has too much crammed in to an hour with satellite feeds and the other special guests to his left.
He needs more guests like D.L. Hughley, Belzer, and people like that. Gary Shandling was a complete loser and I tried to re watch the show but couldn't take it. Donahue and Arrianna had trouble getting in a word to make a point. For a finale show, this was a bad choice.

This show made me finally realize that I tune in for the entertainment value and not for insights or hard news and facts. That said, I still think Bill should have done a better job reining in Schandling and giving the others more air time.
One fact the show got close to but backed off on is the 'real elephant in the room', which supposedly is Iraq, but is in truth an unsustainable world population (and one of it's manifestations, resource conflict, ie, Iraq). This destabilization, as well as many other things, were known about and talked about in the 1970's after the first oil shock, but apparently, after wasting 35 years or so, we now have to waste more time reinventing knowledge.
But it's Bill's show and he can run it the way he wants. Just my 2c...

:-x You said it. I stumbled all over it. You hit the nail on the head. I applauded you for stating what I couldn't say correctly. That was the problem with the show. Yes... exactly. Right ON >>>>

B-)I watched the program again. I had a totally different view of the show. Bill YES I do love his show and I do love listening to his thoughts and humor. So yes I am pro-Bill Maher. But I wish I would have heard more out of Donahue. But in watching it again. I saw he had a different manner of speaking than what the usual panel of guests make comments. But I do have to say I didn't think it was a good panel grouping. I did wonder Arianna Huffington had something going for Garry Shandling LOL. Did you see the body language and how the chair kept scooting toward him. Very touchy feelly between them. But I would have liked to see a better panel that did comment off each other. But Donahue was very reserved in his comments. I just don't see the vitally in him that once was there. I wasn't really impressed with the show in comparison to others.

But as far as Bill goes. He doesn't need me to say he is cool. He is capable of looking at situations of all kinds and giving a comment according to the issue and he does look at the data before him and make a valid comment. Even if he has to back up and rethink something. He did give Hillary a good boost. Cause yes I don't think anyone who is that close should step out.

I will say. I have went from Obama to Hillary as my candidate. I will not support a candidate to lead this country who doesn't confront That Reverend Wright. NO religious personage has any rights to speak as he does and not have retributions for his comments. Come ON the man called Obama's Mom a Whore? And that didn't bring out something in the man to correct that issue. Imus stepped down. Yes he was called on it and he was remorseful for his offhanded comment. And I do not agree at any time public speakers or people in the lime light should make bias comments. It is wrong and nothing good comes from it. And his being a minister of any church is ALWAYS GIVEN as the house of God and anyone who enters there should have God's love in their hearts for all God's children. Judge not least you be judged. I have never seen a minister of God speak in such vicious, venomous words that come out of his mouth, and I lost all respect for Obama. Either it is a ploy to victimize him and he is "the poor misunderstood boy" for our pity or "a coward to confront evil" Turning the other cheek ignoring this hideous confrontal comment and not saying anything, at all raised doubt in the man. Not saying anything "Silence is Consent" so his mother a Whore? and it is the truth. But somehow I am giving her the benefit of the doubt first I don't know anything about her but I really believe his was "Slander of the Worse Kind" A presidentail candidates Momma gets cussed at. Come On that man is cussing maybe not in our "forum of four letter words" but his mindset and his manner of stating things is cussing. But I don't see the son this woman that bespeaks a lifestyle of someone with such a background. So why put up with it?

I want a leader. I want someone willing to speak out. How a person chooses to represent their thoughts to challenge his horrible remark is up to them. But clearly that comment needed to be addressed. Even by agencies who act on slanderous remarks. Someone should charge that man for his mouth! No one gets anyway with a mouth like that.... Obama not addressing it. No... no for Leading by Example. This is a very poor example right at his personal level his family has been slandered.

Reagan had Billy Graham at his side. Impressive comradery as it should be with your pastor. Not this scene what is he doing in a church with this type of attitude. If I listened to someone ranting idiot on a pulpit sounding like that I would lift ass and out the door I would go with end of service or not! NOT everyone serves the Lord! this is not God's Servant! God did not Call this Man to Serve Him! No sir!

bill,
at the beginning of the show this week you made an astute observation that the folks watching around the nation ARE concerned with real issues. i applaud that you keep bringing up material of substance and hope that upon your return next season you source more independent news like globalresearch.ca, coanews.org, atlernet.org, dailykos.com, and hit the issues hard. no fuckin around. p.s. do you even read these things?

GARRY SHANDLING was horrible and added no VALUE to the discussion. WHY would you have that blithering idiot on????? Blithering is too kind. What a moron !

You wasted the intellect of two knowledgeable panelist in Donahue and Ariana with that jackass ! What a waste !

Was he on qualludes? Some issues could use levity from time to time but he was way overboard and not funny. IRRATATING TO THE 3RD POWER !
