I think there should be classes to teach girls about self esteem and how to love themselves,and to learn not to obcess in relationships. Women have been so discriminated against for so long, they expect to be mistreated and think it is normal.They need to be taught that when standards of behavior are not met to walk , recognizing "danger" signs.Women with high self esteem are not as susceptable to abuse.

I suspect you really understand why Congress does nothing despite the suffering of the American people. This is not a democracy: it is a republic where persons voted into office supposedly to fairly represent their constituents. The reality is no politician (with few exceptions such as the super rich like Kennedy and Metzenbaum) care about poor perosns and working class. They are in politics to line their pockets, provide jobs for their friends, and to gain power. To achieve these objectives they must play along with corporate American and their lobbyists. There is no need for anyone to have to drive a gasline based engine when technology exists for solar and electric cars. These patents and copyrights are immediately bought up by oil companies and kept off the market. I pray that Americans wake up and one day just vote: None of the above.

She kept saying "Teachers shouldn't be teaching morality." THAT'S her argument against teaching contraception?
That is a huge lie. Teaching contraception is NOT "teaching morality." It's giving information.
And she told another huge lie when she said that abstinence-only programs reduce pregnancy. That's completely false. It has been reported repeatedly that kids in abstinence-only programs have a higher rate of pregnancy -- because, being human, with sexual urges, they're going to have sex anyway. Obviously.
But the pandering, fake-moralizing right-wing liars who support abstinence-only education deny these kids information about contraception. So they get pregnant. THAT's pretty easy to predict, isn't it?
But that smug, smirking, arrogant little twat sits up there and just tells that same huge lie over and over and over again, and no one challenges her on it.
How big of a hammer do you suppose it would take to pound the truth into that lying bitch's thick fucking skull?

If we are going participate in corporate welfware by socializing the losses by companies like Bear Sterns, why don't we pay for it by socializing the profits of companies like Haliburton or Exxon?
Why is it unamerican to socialize profits, but it our responsiblity to socialize losses?
