Just came back from Universal Studios in Orlando and can somebody tell me what is going on with the people in this country. I would say more than half the people walking in the park were not mildly obese but moderate and severe. This not only on the older groups but also on the younger population as well. Is it genes?, is it hormones in our food?. Whatever it is it is destroying this country and the future of it. This is something that we need to focus on specifically as we tackle the healthcare reform. The cost per capita with this rampant obesity problem will not have an answer, not even with a socialized system. Hypertension, Diabetes, more surgical complications and other problems will not allow us to compensate if the majority of us continues this path. And remember people is not the gastric bypass the answer as these surgeries are quite expensive. We cannot have it all.

Your assesment has been right on the money. Obama hits the ball softly and it crosses the net. Now it's their turn to hit the ball back. He's doing it with healthcare reform, he did it with Cuba and now he is doing it with Iran. Changes cannot be achieved so quickly as if he fails the trickle down effect will interfere with his vision and long term plans. I believe his main problem is the media which has gained so much power that it will create static at so many levels in every household that then fear will overtake any possibility of change. We need change in healthcare, we need to give it back to physicians that are not corrupted by the corporate world. We need to give it to private entities which are not in the stock exchange in which the only way to profit is increasing the monthly fee or cutting services which does include physicians salaries. And if not they give incentives to doctor's if they save money on patients' care. This definitely has to change and it is not centered on the majority of physicians that practice ethically, it is centered once again in Wall Street and greed.

I just read that Sarah Palin clamed not to be a quitter!!! WHAT!!! Isn't a quitter defined as someone who quits? Oh... Maybe she meant she's not a critter. That makes more sense.

....in 6,000 years of "written history....there have been more than 16,000 wars......this is order??....this is civilization???.....animals are more civilized than humanity!! Unless the individual changes "from within"....there is nothing but global suicide on this path!!! All truly enlightened beings have shown and have spoken......that being aware.........in the moment.....is the way.....and usually we just torture and kill them. Some barometer of our love for ourselves!!! Unless we become meditatively aware...................all 6.something billion people.....headed towards 12 billion.....will..... of our own choice....create an even greater hell than the one we're in....... -- Edited by swamiprem at 07/03/2009 8:00 PM PDT

Can I add that I didn't particularly care for the format of the last show? It lacked any real debate. Bill seemed to pander more to the guests. IMO.

Since Al Franken wins the Mn Supreme Court case, are you going to stop your Norm Coleman jokes? And why didn't you make a joke when Norm Coleman said God wanted him to win?

Hi, I have watched your program and have seen your movie religulous. One thing that would add to your repretoire of religious knowledge would be an 8 minute you tube post on monotheism, "knocking down the top 3". This helps understand how religion could just be man relation of man with GOD all the way back to the beggining. It is a must see. By the way I do enjoy your show this post would be something that would enlighten your religious persuits Bill.

How do I submit questions for the next show? The other day I looked up the definition of sociopath and it read as if it was the definition for a Republican. These bastards are waging a tough battle against your average American, I want to ask Bill if he would do a PSA for health care reform? If not, perhaps he can contact some one else who would? The spin and rhetoric (started by the Nixon and Reagan administrations) they have put on this subject is so bad, and reaches so far and wide that it never ceases to amaze me who is brain washed and believing all their crap. It will be hard to get these clowns to call their representatives in Washington if they keep believing this crap. That's what the battle is right now fighting all these bible thumping, no tax idiots. Thanks, azdiygal@aol.com -- Edited by Stephanie260 at 06/27/2009 1:10 AM PDT -- Edited by Stephanie260 at 06/27/2009 1:23 AM PDT

Hey Bill, do you think that Michael Jackson and Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas have been secretly idolizing the same person: Mr. Potato Head? Call me! (011)+49-1515-6676994
