What does Bill think about the Washington Post piece about the Obama administration selling out on health-care reform by making secret deals with health industry? -- Edited by wiseman2000 at 08/14/2009 7:17 PM PDT

Have you seen this Bill? "I, Sarah Palin, Governor of the state of Alaska, do hereby proclaim April 16, 2008, as: Healthcare Decisions Day in Alaska, and I call this observance to the attention of all our citizens. Dated: April 16, 2008" http://gov.state.ak.us/archive.php?id=1094&type=6

I agree Michael Vick deserves a second chance, as does anyone who served in prison. But he doesn't deserve to play in the NFL, where some idiot will see him as a role model. Playing in the NFL is a privilege, not a right. And didn't he break the NFL rules against gambling? Because the penalties for cruelty to animals are so weak, he actually prosecuted for the illegal gambling aspect and served time for that. Let him get a shitty retail or restaurant job like anyone else who's been in prison. -- ~I've been glamoured by Bill Compton "You're cute; can I sit in your lap?"

Why is it that no one will call out the republican party's motive for wanting to "take their time" before coming up with a good plan? I'm sick and tired of hearing them say "we need to think this through." The only reason they want more time is to delay the vote until after November, when there is a good chance the democrats will lose COMPLETE control of congress. It is absolutely ridiculous that this hasn't been brought up by a single media outlet (to my knowledge). ...and I imagine if they did, Hannity and Rush would be the first to dismiss them as part of the leftist socialist media. Do these people opposing a public health care plan realize that if they viewed their current health care premiums as a tax, their taxes are INCREASING EVERY YEAR! I'm an independent contractor (real estate appraiser) and I have seen my health insurance premiums increase over 100% in the past 3 YEARS! I am currently paying $315/month with a $2500 deductible...which means I am paying $6,280/year out of pocket before my insurance provider pays a cent....that's over 10% of my GROSS income. On top of that, I have to pay 20% of the bill over $5,000...assuming they help. Now the typical conservative response would be "shop around, let the free market work things out." Well, for those of you who aren't subjected to working for a corporation (aka indentured servitude), shopping around isn't really an option if you've been diagnosed with an illness within the past two years. Health care has become a luxury for the wealthy and healthy....and those that work for companies they could care less about.

With all the talk/debate about healthcare going on is this the time for NORML and lobbyist groups to really push forward marijuana reform. I know I don't wanna pay for a health care system that wont give every advantage to cancer patients. Thanks Bill and Guests. ~Mike in Arizona

why is it that this is a christian nation when it comes to War, Homosexuality, Stem Cell Research, Abortion, etc. but when it comes to the biggest biblical take away.. helping the poor, the sick, the hungry, the tired, the "least of these"... theres nothing? the right grasp at the 10 or so vague Bible references to homosexuality, meanwhile the 300+ references to help those less fortunate are swept under the rug. Jesus said to treat others as you would treat Jesus himself, TO! love your neighbor as yourself. He stressed helping others. I often wonder why i always see "god Hates fags" and never "god hates rich ppl" on signs considering when mentioning how hard it is to get to heaven he mentioned rich, not homos. Weird. The rich right want to forget this in their cafeteria approach to his word, but if they see two gay guys hanging out in front of Morgan Keegan, its on! fisticuffs!.

Why do the people of America, even to the U.S. Congress Leaders...not realize the Truth of the History of the USA ? How many of them know the truth of How the American Indians were Finally Conquered ? Answer: The Founding Fathers of America, sent the Youngest Male Generations...from their families & other High-Ranking Military Officers...for these YOUNG MALES to "go & marry the Daughters of All the Tribal Chiefs"...who were "in possession" of land & Natural Resources, that were needed for Sustaining the Military Operations of America. This began to take place 1776/1778 thru 1830...a span of 50+years...every daughter grew up to marry a European (whiteman)...descendant of, and / or, a High-Ranking Military Officer (whiteman), then in 1831-1839...they were Required to Journey to a Promised Land...Oklahoma Territory. So, if these american indians became a Mixed-Blood Tribal People, as Descendants of the Royalty of European Countries...dating back to an Era before the 12-tribes of Israel, existed...why do they have a Separate Government / Separate Nations / & A GUARANTY HOUSING / MEDICAL / EDUCATION / EMERGENCY ASSISTANCE...when THIS WAS THE PLAN FOR THE MILITARY SOLDIERS & THEIR SUCCEEDING GENERATIONS...plans which was established by the Founding Fathers of America...so the U.S. Constitution / Bill of Rights...could remain "INTACT FOR SUCCEEDING GENERATIONS". Why should Tribal People...who have CDIB cards, be of any more Importance than others who are Just as Much Indian & Royalty Bloodlineage, be Without That Guaranty of Living...Lifestyle ?? For Proof of this, do a Research Study on Nathaniel Folsom (b: 1726)and the Folsom Family Ancestory & their Descendants...exam The Folsom Tavern in Exeter, N.H. and then to examine the Documents of the Choctaw Tribe of Oklahoma: ALL WHO HAVE CDIB cards & the Non-CDIB cardholders, ARE ALL FROM THE FOLSOM ANCESTORY....since there were Three Whitemen: Nathaniel Folsom (born 1756 NC) / Edmund Folsom / Ebenezer Folsom...brothers, who married the Daughters of the Choctaw Chief...1776-1778...BEFORE THE U.S. CONSTITUTION / BILL OF RIGHTS, became Supreme Law of America & it's inhabitants. Has Justice been Prevailed Upon, properly? I am of European Royalty & American Indian, no CDIB card....there are thousands of others who are Heirs / Heiress's to the Founding of the Government of America. Anyone want to Stand United for Support of Retaining the Constitutional Rights for "Individual Equal Rights / Equal Justice" for All ? Even with a National Healthcare Plan ?

Having been pretty quiet about the whole health care debate, I finally responded to a friend on facebook when he sent me an invitation to "join the cause" against health care reform. I explained that I understand his concerns, but the system is a mess and must be fixed. I asked him why those who are against reform are simply screaming "don't do anything" instead of offering some suggestions on how to fix the issues: exponentially increasing costs, people being dropped from policies, pre-existing conditions, the list goes on. Still he replied, basically, don't do it. Why doesn't anyone put some of these opponents on the spot and ask them, "What do you suggest we do to fix the problem?"

Why does Barak Obama every speech with the obligitory "God bless America"? Our problems are no longer limited to our borders...they are global. Climate change is global; the financial meltdown is global. We can no longer be provincial and survive, but who speaks for Earth? "God Bless America" sends out a divisive, arrogant, and exclusinary Us versus Them message. Didn't God make all humans and not just Americans? So while we have the world's attention let's reinforce America's new outgoing message by a new and inclusionary tag line...God Bless Planet Earth.
