....a picture is a thousand words...shouldn't Obama use diagrams and pictures to explain Health Reform to those who don't get it? I think some people are concept challenged and really don't 'understand' word explanations.

Bill - - Have you seen Fareed Zakaria? NOT your average news guy. Honest, straightforward reporting. He is probably the best the news media has to offer. How about recruiting him as a guest so other newscasters can see how it's supposed to be done. K Papapjohn, Phoenix

Dear Mr. Maher, I don't think the mobilization of left wing demonstration is necessary at this time. It's not hard for the left to organize one through the majority officials. Yeah, even President Obama can be a guest speaker at the event. The Republican representatives had no problem to have used their influences to organize town hall madness, but they ultimately caved in on a number of issues. IMO, there's very little to demonstrate against. I think it's better to ignore and make fun of the erroneous and illogical oppositional discontents rather give into or validate public hysteria at the risk of possible self destructive divisions. Besides, liberal demonstration will only effect the thin skinned POTUS with propensity to give into ratings and not yet willing to swing his stick at the powerful special interests such as MIC and many others. *sigh* -- Edited by infoseek at 09/13/2009 11:15 AM PDT

Bill, Thanks for being so politically honest! Thank You, Thank You, Thank You! I have to ask you ..... Don't you think that the strange bunch of parents and people who didn't want their kids to hear the president speak are not just predjudice but actually afraid the school kids might just like him and see how much sense he makes? I believe in your show and it is a breath of fresh air in this stale economy. You may not believe in God but if there is one people like you are doing the right thing. How? by your behavior and willingness to always give more. Please keep up the talk on healthcare reform. I have not had healthcare for over 8 years now. I can't afford it. I have homeowners insurance in Key West, FL(Hurricane zone)$700 per month. I had 44in of water in my house & business 10/24/2005. They only paid enough to fix half the house. We all need people like you to be a strong voice for all. Its the only way things will ever get addressed or change for the better. Thank You Again, Julia @ Seacloud

"?You lie!? Wilson shouted from the crowd. Obama paused for a moment before continuing his address as Wilson?s colleagues looked on in shock following the breach of protocol. Whether because of his outspokenness or in spite of it, Wilson is a major recipient of contributions from the health care industry. In fact, over his entire congressional career, health professionals represent Wilson?s top industry contributors, donating a total of $244,196 to his campaign, according to the Center for Responsive Politics OpenSecrets.org database. He received another $86,150 from pharmaceutical companies, $73,050 from insurance companies and $68,000 from hospitals and nursing homes. Among Wilson?s top contributors are the American Hospital Association, a lobby group that represents the interests of hospitals and health networks, and the American Medical Association, which represents physicians" This text was something I took from a news story shortly after the incident happened. Please note the dollar figures and where they came from, Obama may be a 'liar' in this guy's opinion, but at least he is not a hypocrite. Who is this guy and why does he need so much money for doing what ever it is that he does????? And the dollar signs alone will show everyone why he is against health care reform. It is this kind of thing that just pisses me off! I bet he calls himself a christian too. All christians should be ashamed of themselves if this is their representation (along with peodophile priests!). MONEY the root of all evil, the basis of modern christianity, and the reason too many idiots are in charge. Bill, you stated in your show last friday about having to fix health care would mean having to fix the food and drug industry you bet, the food we are eating is absolutely disgusting it is making us unhealthy - I like Ashton Kutchers comment on giving tax cuts to say gym memberships and how about government subsidies for organic food growers instead of pumping it into corn?- we would also have to change people's mind set on what an illness is.. for instance: 'spanking your child a few decades ago was alright, now it is brutal. but pumping him full of medication now is alright' - we would have to educate a whole nation on how to deal with illnesses that are not lethal and are treatable in the home - for instance having parents who care about your upbringing (if I had my way you would have to pass an IQ test just to have a baby!). There a thousands of babies born everyday with an established drug habit, great way to start out a life that you didn't ask for! My point is this whole thing is a bottomless pit and it is going to take a long time to iron out all the wrinkles but we can do it 1 step at a time its taking that first step that is the biggy! Fuck puttiing labels on problems - 'it's socialist', 'it's unamerican', the main label is that it is a PROBLEM! and those who can't see it need to take their hands out of their pockets, stop playing pocket billiards with their contributed $100 dollar bills and shut up! Send these guys out on the streets, have a look at the people living under bridges, working in carnivals, the kids with no-where to go and hang out at homeless shelters - all fucked up on drugs (mostly hello! prescription pills - very easy to get on the streets!), take your hand off your money clip for 5 minutes have have a look at what is on the streets of real America - the forgotton people. ***Every American has the right to freedom of speech! doesn't translate to 'speak so we can see how stupid you really are'!

Given the unemployment rate nation wide, I wonder how many health care reform protestors are without a job and collecting unemployment benenfits as they speak. Surely they would not care to do without these social benefits. How about a FREE Nationalized Beer and Cable TV Sysem for these folks..what that shut them up?

Bill probably likes having a show. At least he has the power to still influence people, but unfortunatly his hands are tied on this subject. Plus, I just don't think he believes it was a conspiracy. Bill Maher truly does love America, and that's why he may be just as stupid as those he mocks, because America has done some fucked up stuff to it's citizens that has never been addressed.
