Have you ever searched "third leading cause of death, doctors" on the internet? A report in the JAMA, by one of their doctors comes up....omg....lol. I'm sick of the infallible doctor syndrome in this country. Doctors are one of the biggest health care problems, right next to the pharma companies.

Bill, I am a 39 year old full time college student. I am majoring in communications. I want to work in the television industry, maybe behind the scenes as a camera man, production assistant, etc...It is my life long dream to be in this business. What kind of advice would you give me? How do I become an assistant on your show??Ha Ha I have been a fan since you were doing stand up back in the late eighties early nineties. Love the show, keep saying what the rest of us are thinking!!

Bill
A couple of points:

1. Don't Ask Dont Tell is a law. The President can not, by edict, get rid of it. It must be repealed, and it's Congress that has to do it.

2. Why is your season so short? Its not like there is a shortage of content for you? Seriously, I don't get HBO's concept of a topical talk show, when it's in actuality a SEASONAL political topical show.

Very disappointing.

Long ago (1971) I went to Okinawa as a civilian and was given the impression that I didn't need the vaccines to go there but I would have to have them to get back into the U. S. Is this possibly the real story? Therefore it wouldn't be the "rest of the world" requiring this but once again our own government who seem to be in bed with the drug companies.

Here's an idea to get Don't Ask Don't Tell overturned but quick: If the generals want more troops, they have to agree to get rid of DADT now. I don't know if it's up to them, but you can be they'll be screaming for it.

Bill, what are your views on the HPV vaccination? How do you relate the benefits of one vaccine to the effects of another like the swine flu?

Thanks,
Alex

Bill:

I like the whole vaccine discussion. Mercury in the fillings; I get it. Why would anyone trust a for-profit medical system, or a for-profit drug company? Most drugs aren't much more effective than placebos.

In our lifetime, frontal lobotomies were considered scientific. I have no trust in the medical industry.

As a fellow New Jerseyian I'm surprised you didn't bring up the full history of the '76 swine flu. The fact that 1 soldier at Ft. Dix died from it, and that several thousand died or got Guillain Barre syndrome from the knee jerk mass inoculation.

The Flu Pandemic of 1917 struck mostly young and Healthy because that was its adaptation. I don't think there were too many fast food restaurants then.

Check out the book 'Survival of the Sickest' and or website of the same name.

Bill, you have made the point tonight that doctors and patients collude to give procedures and drugs that aren't needed. This is somewhat true. But, why can't you acknowledge the reality that those procedures and drugs are prescribed because if the doctor did not do the things the patient requests he would be opening him/herself up to the litigious public. Too many people are looking for a way to sue doctors, and that has to be acknowledged and reformed if we ever intend to have fewer "unneeded" procedures.

The L.A. county D.A. is threatening to crack down on marijuana dispensaries while Denver has made possession a $1 fine. Will one of these states legalize it in 2010?

I signed a contract with my church not to have sex.

So my girlfriend and I were driving along and I see this sign that says... Poker in the Rear.

So I did.

Hey Bill,
My question is... how can any statement be made that the risks of H1N1 flu are far worse than the risks of the vaccine when there cannot possibly be any long term studies involving the vaccine?

Pregnant women have been given drugs in the past deemed safe, and then years down the road those babies, all grown, were discovered to have birth defects such as sterility.

Wash your hands!!!
