shouldn't the "trigger" that is being proposed be to the "single payer" health care system? This way the forbidden solution to our health care problems will kick in without a political debate......either that or just regulate the industry so the rates can't go up every year.

So Bill, when you sit around the bong at night do you ever think of reasons to be optimistic about the future?

First of all, I hope President Obama watches Real Time.

I want to know why everyone is so afraid of a public option. I know why the "Right Wingers" don't want it. It won't make them any money.

People are in a world of hurt right now. I am disabled, after being a working RN and volunteer Emergency Medical Technician since 1983. I feel very lucky to be on Medicare at the tender age of 54.

I have a congenital heart condition and KNOW that I'd never be able to get adequate health care without help from my Country, the U. S.

I just don't understand why some people can't realize that a healthier Nation would promote a more financially stable USA.

Dear Bill,

Don't you think that it would be a good idea for the American government to purchase a Snuggie for each American citizen (man, woman, and child)? This way America as a whole could cut down on its heating costs this winter. And we would also be doing our part to cut down on global warming.

I favor Single Payer Insurance. In lieu of that, a Public Option is essential. However, I am very afraid that congress is going to pass a bill that will end up making us worse off than before, as they did with Medicare Part D (which is a nightmare). What do you think the odds are that we'll end up worse off?

Why can't we just have a payroll deduction for healthcare like our taxes. Or raise the tax rate to include healthcare ?

Bill,
As I'm sure you're aware, RNC chairman Michael Steele started a blog on their website. He named it "What UP? One day later, he took it down. If anything speaks to how far out of touch the Republican party is, I can't think of a better example. If it weren't so damned offensve, it would be funny. It is what I would expect from Rush Limbaugh or Glen Beck.
Any comments?

Why do the Insurance companies believe that they shouldn't have any competition? Why are we letting the Insurance companies be a Monopoly?

If the Citizens of The United States were to vote in a referendum for or against a Public Option or Universal Health Care - I truly believe Universal Health Care and Public Option would be their 1 and 2nd choices.

We need competition to reduce costs!

During these tough economic times, we are continually asked to "make sacrifices". The poor and middle-class are the hardest-hit, yet they are asked to give and give and give a little more. When companies lay off, it's the poorest and middle-class workers that typically feel it first. When is it going to be time for the wealthy and the mega-corporations to give a little bit more? Where is the sacrifice when the fuck-ups who trashed the economy are receiving multi-million-dollar bonuses (let alone not losing their jobs)? Where is the sacrifice when a company lays off some low-wage workers (whose job means a difference in their entire EXISTENCE), so that some executive can continue to make payments on his Jag? Where is the sacrifice at the UPPER LEVELS in America? When will companies stop bleeding the working class to supplant their out-of-control greed?

Do you and your panel think that reality shows are detrimental to our country? I think that they are, and this whole "balloon boy" farce is a good example of just what they are doing to us. It has invaded our actual msm in a major way and that makes all of us look like morons.
