Brilliant yet disappointing because there was not enough of JQA's experiences as President. His election as President should have been highlighted as a triumph of the family and his major accomplishments outlined as the nations first family dynasty continues. It instead became a bit of a Giammati showcase and less of an overview of American history. It's a delicate balance but as good as Giammati was I felt they went to deep into Adams the man and lost focus of the overall goal which was our history as a nation. There is no reason to do a history of a founding father and then take the focus off of the child.... Any comments on this episode in review are welcome! -- Edited by SirDonald at 04/21/2008 12:08 AM PDT -- Edited by SirDonald at 04/21/2008 12:09 AM PDT

Oh indeed, it would be a miracle if Ron could, for once, manage to do just that. It is ever quite amusing of him to chide and degrade someone on their point of view, where he often tries to portray a person as uneducated and such. He is simply an instigator, of very questionable character for his numerous attacks upon anyone with an opinion that differs with his. But, as I stated to him before, I certainly will not shy away and or ever be fearful of challenging his attacks and hypocrisy... It's just simply too much fun for me to see how flustered he becomes as he is indeed challenged Have a Nice Day!

The only baby here is truly yourself, Ron... whine all you like! It is quite amusing indeed! LOL > > > around and spews his pablum about religion here, > and > Pablum? LMAO Ron, I knew you wouldn't have a clue... just so you know, there is a thing called a Dictionary... ever hear of it? Here's a definition for you: pab·lum - (lowercase) trite, naive, or simplistic ideas or writings; intellectual pap... just like the pablum you tend to write. Understand it now, Ron? > > > then in other threads, he tries to compare Obama > with > > John Adams, then tries to sell to everyone that > this > > You can compare and contrast anything with anyone > with anything else, if you have even the most > rudimentary of education but not if you are trailer > trash bigot barely capable of speech, writing and > reading. How comical, coming from someone who cannot even begin to know what a simple word like pablum means! Ron, you certainly know what "trash" is, don't you? You write it completely all too well... > > > wonderful miniseries is unfactual and very bad > (and > > labeling Tom Hanks as "bigoted" > It's true, but hey even a busted watch is right twice > a day. > > > thread trying to tell everyone to cancel their > HBO! > > It's true, but hey even a busted watch is right twice > a day. Usually, people throw out busted watches after they fail the very first time, with the rest of the TRASH! Sound familiar, Ron? Oh... Have a Nice Day!

In an earlier post I believe you discussed your "unitarian beliefs and church" as having more in common with the Founding Fathers. For the sake of amusement, could you please expound on your unitarian beliefs, principles and ethics some more? Have a Nice Day!

Name calling, personal attacks, a self-indulging childish post is a poor substitute for reason, and yet points up the strength of my reasoning and my posts. Thank-you and Have a Nice Day!

Are you really Ron Popeil? There used to this company called RonCo owned by him that sold all sorts of fraudulent garbage products on TV late at night like the pocket fisherman and veg-o-matic... "it slices, it dices, it makes julienne fries" (see Mork and Mindy and Robin Williams). I would banish you from this great board to the outermost limits of IMDB hell if I was the god of HBO Internet. That's how much respect I have for the intellectual and spiritual quality of your nonsensical cut rate trash product sold only to the most ignert. Another pocket fisherman by RonCo anyone? Maybe a Ginsu knife would do for you.

Your observations say much about yourself rather than any actual reflection of the truth. Astute readers can only wonder what the first draft of your post contained before the multiple edits. However, I must commend you, at least you seem to have not overtly confessed to anymore personal scream sessions, ,childish name calling, profanity, temper tantrums or drug induced bouts of orgasmic flights of fancy. Further, you have apparently conceded the Historical truths on my posts of the Founding Fathers. Good Job!

About the only thing GW was as devout about as his love for his country and his family was his love for good strong beer. He drank so much of his favorite variety, called porter, that it rotted his teeth. I call for all fundamentalist crackpots to protest to HBO about their hideous slight to the beer drinking masses of the world by NOT showing just how much our first President loved to drink the dark stuff, after all he was a soldier first. And Sam Adams? Well forget it........he is still the stuff of alephenalia legend! HBO didn't even show him taking a snort did they? The guy was heavily into the beer business for Christsake.....and was probably too drunk most of the time with friends to even read a prayerbook. -- Edited by SirDonald at 05/11/2008 10:05 AM PDT -- Edited by SirDonald at 05/11/2008 10:12 AM PDT

SirDonald, Indeed, Comte, of the 3 stages, with the last as the "Positive" stage as you refer to in which he was also referred to as the "Pope of Positivism" LOL I happen to agree with these theories in principle and I definitely see what you mean in Henry Adams ardently following its principles. While it is certain that John and Abigail both subscribed to a higher being, I believe it possibly they also combined that belief along with a track of growth, as the 3 stages is also referred to as the theory of social evolutionism. I much prefer this concept, rather than simply believe in a literal interpretation as Fundamentalists often do with the Bible. I believe it is possible that both John and Abigail were on this same track, without actually naming it as such. I have also been to a UU church as well. I have been mostly Catholic in my lifetime and I found the Unitarian Church as quite different in its basis than any other church I have experienced. It often seems to me quite a haven to those who have been pounced upon by the Fundamentalists time and again I greatly enjoy your posts, Sir... Keep up the good work!
