Grey Gardens living relatives

Bouvier Beale Jr. (Big Edie's Grandson/Little Edie's Nephew) and his wife Eva Beale were very close to Little Edie, and were very much a part of her life after Big Edie passed away and Grey Gardens was sold. They were also the executors of her will. Although she didn't have much money, she left them priceless treasures: letters, photos, poems etc. that Little Edie had saved from childhood on. The family decided to share this with fans and put together a remarkable book: Edith Bouvier Beale of Grey Gardens A life in Pictures
It seriously is more than what I had expected: So much history about the Bouvier/Beale's and some really important questions that are answered.

Just for the record, I do not work for the Beale's or the publishing company...there is no agenda with this post other than to let fans know that its a must have if you love the "Edie's"

Not sure if anyone has seen it, but this website:

Grey Gardens Online
http://www.greygardensonline.com/town.html

is a fascinating website, with alot of history, facts and even photos taken during that time. There is much about the "raids" also there. Really terrific site that has all things Grey Gardens.

Sorry I'm late!
Yes! I have seen it now several times and I am really impressed with everything.

I was however, hoping that they would have shown more of what went on during the "raids" from the county. In reality theyraided house several times, and were very cruel to the Beale's. It was more like harassment.

In the book I got (Edith Bouvier Beale of Grey Gardens: A Life in Pictures) there is a forward from Peter Beard in which he tells of one raid where the fire dept hosed down the entire ground floor with the Edie's upstairs. They must have been terrified.

Anyone that has more information on the raids please share!

Im so happy you saw the doc.
I am one of those freaks who has seen it countless times, so you can imagine how anxious I am to see how this is portrayed. So many questions in the doc that I hope are answered in the movie.

I will look at the involuntary committal laws in that state, it is very curious.

I think I will have to watch Grey Gardens, it makes me wonder how this family, with all their money and influence, could let these two women live in squalor.
