Perhaps Chris couldn't forgive himself for finally alienating Tobias? He just realised that Beecher would never love him if he kept tricking him to keep him inside. He also knew that Beecher would eventually betray him and the choice was either to kill Beecher who he loved or to end it all himself. I think Keller had found this all consuming love in Beecher that he'd never experienced before.
In Tobias I think Chris had probably met his match, the only person who could stand up and speak honestly to him. Beecher was Kellers antithesis, the light in Kellers darkness. The possibility of losing the integrity that he had found in Beecher when Keller couldn't find it in himself was frightening for him.
But perhaps Beechers betrayel was the most devestating prospect for Keller. It was based on Tobias desire to be free not on any need to see justice. Keller knew that and for Chris to have witnessed his lovers betrayel for pieces of silver was not the Tobias he had fallen in love with. Beechers betrayel of not only his lover but his own integrity was something that I think Keller could not bear to see.
When the devil corrupts the incorruptable then he has lost his reason for existing.

Why did Keller have to kill himself, he probably could've gotten Beecher to forgive him, he's forgiven him for all the other shit he's pulled.
