Mark Antony is running Rome while Caesar pursues Pompey in the East, but when news comes that the tide has turned and that Pompey now pursues Caesar, Antony must decide whether to remain loyal to his old commander or turn against him as Atia and Pompey wish. Pullo takes Octavian to a brothel; Atia attempts to mend fences with Servilia; and Vorenus and Niobe rediscover their intimacy, albeit briefly.

I thought she said like wood at first, but a co-worker said it was like bull, and after listening to it several times I have to agree she said like bull. My guess is that she was use to having to complement the customers talents no matter how bad they were especially if they were from a prominent family. I also think that this scene and story line was ment to emphasize Octavian's sexual nievity at this time in his life. Historically, Octavian/Augustus was supposed to have been a bit of a prude .

She said "like bull" not "like wood" and it was a weird scene. It was never alluded to again so any conclusions are pure speculation. -- ~~~~~ Meet me in the sewer later...

I have always felt like I was missing something in this episode when Octavian and Egeria came out to meet TP and the madam after Octavian 'penetrated' someone for the first time. Is it just me or did he not get too excited about the whole process? He seemed to know the dynamatics, but when Pullo asked the girl how Octavian was as a first-time lover, when she said he was like 'wood', Octavian seemed so ho-hum about the whole thing, well...I've actually wondered if he and the girl ended up talking the whole time about her experiences as a slave, how she became one, more about her family, etc. Did that scene strike anyone else wierd? -- Victoria Antonia Mons Esquilinus Solum Fides Licet
