Thanks for the advice, gasconade. Winning as Rome is too boring, so I'll looking forward to sacking it instead. -- Edited by AlexiosTheFirst at 08/11/2008 3:48 PM PDT

> Is it this one? Linked Here EU: Rome players here? Great game, but you have to download all of the patches. The game out of the box has too many bugs and quirks. Play as the Arverni, conquer the Aedui and control all Gaul under the fist of Vercingetorix Make peace with Rome and backstab them when they duel with Carthage. -- Flavio's not coming.

Money indeed is the key. Raze every captured city to the ground. You must play as non-Romans when that time comes. It's more fun and challenging! > -- > Fortune favors the bold.

No, I regret I haven't done that, yet. Once I actually WON the game, but at one of the lower levels, of course. The way to win is to be ruthless, kill ALL prisoners, and hoard money! For the past several years, I haven't had time enough to play, since I've been writing. One of these days! -- Fortune favors the bold.

Great! Glad you enjoyed it too. I have no doubt that you are good field commander too. Perhaps we could duel sometime? I learned quite a bit too from the game, but not everything was accurate...like that idea about camels disgusting horses. Did you ever play as someone besides the Romans? I found them too easy, so I loved the Seleucids.

I did, I did! Even found out I'm not a bad field commander! Ha! It actually helped me visualize a LOT of scenes in my novel! I love games with which one can LEARN. I chalk that one up as one of those! There's a new one out, and I'm having a senior moment and can't for the life of me remember the name. It is silvery-white in color, with a picture of J. Caesar on the front. Looks cool, because it's interactive and it seems you can assume the role of a famous Roman general. -- Fortune favors the bold.

Heh, I didn't think the lecturer was that boring. Speaking of Rome Video Games; have you tried Rome: Total War, Hyker? I thought it was quite fun.
