The "I would do him" list

Hahaha,

Thanks to Camamar, I have thought of a wonderful new thread - for the ladies only - to express their utmost desires and dreams about any man who fulfils their fantasy 'requirements' on an "I WOULD DO HIM" List.

It is the perfect opportunity to say who you fancy rotten and why.

Oh and any men reading this should not feel inferior. We are just daydreaming out loud; airing our thoughts as to who is deemed utterly shagtastic. BUT don't forget we love our REAL men too.

OK, I'll go first:

Well there's no guessing as to who's top of MY list:

Ray SteVenson

Reasons: pick any out of a zillion

He's the 'martini' man of my dreams...er, I'd DO HIM anytime, anyplace, anywhere!

Oh no. "The Line for Titus Pullo" thread is gone.

Ah well. I hadn't been here for a while. And TitusPullo couldn't be arsed to come by in eons. So...what the hell.

A day (I don't know how late, actually) late and a dollar short...or whateverTF that expression is. At any rate *shrugs* Time marches on. And I should have been in bed already.

Good night, Rome fans. Gods know my name can be numbered among the legion of 'Rome' fans.

I hope people continue to discover and appreciate the glory of 'Rome' for many years hence.

I haven't checked him out enough to say I would do him.....but actor Shai Fredo is good-looking, has a manly voice that tickles my ears, and has a sexy presence. He does seem to be aware of how attractive he is. ;\

Oh I like Zac Efron's eyes but I wouldn't do him... he's a bit too young.

*Sighs dreamily*

It's STILL Ray Ray Ray Ray Ray for me....

Although... based on voice alone, I would cetainly do David Cassidy!

I've been listening to my David Cassidy and The Partridge Family CD *is unashamed at owning said item* and his voice is like creamy chocolate melted over shag-pile velvet. I love it and can often be caught at traffic lights in my car, singing along heartily...

"... and suddenly she's crashing through my mind, like waves upon the shore *echo* waves upon the shore, and I nod my head whoa yes love, I'd welcome you again, if you knocked upon my door *echo* knocked upon my dooooor*

Oh yes and the one that makes me think of Ray:

I think I love you.
So what am I so afraid of?
I'm afraid that I'm not sure of
A love there is no cure for... *sighs*

I would agree that for those who do not know the history of the times, it may be an OK show. But if you know the history, you are cringing too much to really enjoy it.

Well, my impression is that the writers wanted to do a parody: Pullo starts the civil war, Pullo impregnates Cleopatra, Pullo and Vorenus swim a thousand miles from the Adriatic to the Aegean, Pullo and Vorenus clean up the Roman underworld, Pullo and Vorenus execute Cicero while having a nice picnic. In the meantime, there is a bitch fight between Atia and Servillia. None of this is serious stuff, it is all parody and rather unsuccessful at that. The writers did not know if they were filming a historical show, a parody for laughs or something dramatic. So, what you got was a salad of relatively low quality.

I'm glad you got something good out of the 'Rome' experience, Aretzios.

Not knowing enough about the history, I enjoyed it for what it was. In fact, I watched a little bit on On Demand while having lunch.

It may have been a bit Forrest Gump with TP & LV getting involved with all the historical giants like GJ Caesar and Octavian and Mark Antony and Cleopatra, but I thought it an entertaining device that tickled me.

I'm in it for the fun. ....Hey....that sounds a bit like an apt signature for me......

Hey Cam and Nomad!

Cam, you have a point. Aretzios, argumentative as he is, definitely has his own principles and points of view, and sticks to them. I think most would agree that he is quite passionate in his criticism of "Rome." He has supported his viewpoint with fact on a pretty consistent basis. I have always given him credit for that.

As for what he thinks of most of us, he may disagree with our praise for the "Rome" series, and believe that we have fallen prey to falsehoods presented as history by HBO, but I don't mind that one bit. (Hey, most of us aren't that gullible; I never regarded the series as factually accurate.) He may regard me as an intellectual light-weight, but I don't really mind that either, as he is far more civil in his responses than some other people I could name who have posted here in the past.

So why shouldn't you hit on Aretzios? If he puts as much energy into some things as he does into his criticism of "Rome," you might, well, have some fun.

Hi! Thanks for the nice words. The only reason that I persevere is that, as you can see in some of the late threads, many still are under the impression that "Rome" provided some revelations regarding the Roman world. I am just trying to correct this misconception!

All I have to say about "Rome" is that it was quite a disappointment. With HBO and a substantial budget, I thought that we would have a historical drama of some quality and we ended up having nothing historical and nothing substantially dramatic. A golden opportunity to do cinematic justice to this period was utterly wasted.

But I got to meet some nice people on this board!!

I agree, Ray is just fantastic for so many reasons. He has that masculinity that Hollywood has lost, you can take him home to your mum, he can fix a leaking tap and still go off in private.

I dunno, Nomad. I have not had that much interaction with Aretzios. Hmmmm.....?:|

Hmmm again..... Now that I think of it, I guess it takes more than that to make me want to do someone! I also have to feel that the other party would do me, too.

I tend to only go into the more frivolous threads, as opposed to the historical or political threads. And that means I would not run into Aretzios much, I think.

Some time ago, when the boards were more active (when Rome had not ended its series run, yet), I had flitted in and out of some threads in which Aretzios had posted....

I found myself agreeing with him on some points, and expressed that on a couple of occasions or so. I don't recall (not that my memory is the greatest) ever seeing Aretzios acknowledging me much if at all.

I think Aretzios looks on me -- if at all -- as a woman who is simple, silly and superficial person, not worth much notice.

Hey! He may have a point! I always knew Aretzios was intelligent. And Nomad, I think you are right in saying that he seems to have his own principles, and is passionate about them...and is perseverant (Errr.... is that the right word?) in continuing to come to this HBO board for a series which he apparently didn't regard very highly at all.
