Thanks, Alexios. That's been the status for quite some time, now, at least publicly. Still, KMK and Ray both say they're in it so I have great hopes that Rome will film this coming summer. It sort of has to if they want KMK, coz he'll need to be on hiatus from Grey's Anatomy. Good news about Polly, Ciaran and James! I hope John Carter of Mars is nothing like John of Cincinnati. Kevin Mckidd just said the script is being shopped around right now. I really hope they can film it next summer, the wait is getting intolerable. Link here Also, Ciaran Hinds has joined the cast of John Carter of Mars (along with Polly and James), thus making a sort of mini-Rome reunion, or more aptly, a reunion of the Mayor of Casterbridge film.

Gawd, that trailer is hot!! Here's some news. There was quite a bit of good business done at this year's AFM on behalf of Rome cast members. Ray Stevenson's film, The Irishman, and James Purefoy's Solomon Kane both picked up distributors. Woo hoo!!! Here are the release dates for Solomon Kane. Lionsgate should be adding the US wide release date soon. Release Dates Canada ? 16 September 2009 (Toronto Film Festival) (premiere) USA ? 24 September 2009 (Austin Fantastic Fest) Spain ? 10 October 2009 (Sitges International Festival of Fantastic and Horror Cinema) USA ? 6 November 2009 (American Film Market) France ? 23 December 2009 Russia ? 31 December 2009 Netherlands ? 14 January 2010 UK ? 5 February 2010 Also, the Alejandro Amenábar film, Agora, now has a US distributor. And it's about time! This film has been doing very good business in Europe. I had read that it was having trouble getting US distribution because, as distributors said, it was too intelligent for the US market! Aretzios will love that comment. As for the Rome Movie, I haven't heard anything new of late. Anybody else? Nomad http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=97645771496&ref=ts

Any one watch the cartoon movie Desperaux (or however its spelled!?! LOL)... There is one character's voice is which so familiar, so distinguishable above all others... none other than our beloved Ciaran Hinds! Any guesses as to which character he lends his fabulous voice to? You must see the movie, close your eyes and just listen... It's unmistakeable... I love his voice! LadyC

Hah! He "friended" me, too, Mark, and I don't think I would have realised who he was if not for your post here. He also joined my Rome Movie (2011) Facebook group. Thanks, Sugar! Nomad

This isn't an actor....but I have an interesting tale. I recieved a friends request on Facebook yesterday from someone in Italy. I usualy ignore requests from people I don't know, but I always do some checking first to be sure the interests that we must share that brought my name up as a suggestion is not relevant enough to consider the person. I click on the person and see a Polly Walker group (which I joined) so I figured it was a mutual love of HBO's Rome...then I remember he lives in Rome and I wonder if our link may be family. Anyway that's when I decided to google the name and see what comes up. He was a Costumes driver at Cinecitta Studios for Rome for a number of episodes. Cool....Italian, Rome fan/tech crew, and from the costume department. What the hell....I confirmed.

Walker would be a divine Cassiopeia.

> Polly, a sexy > Martian? Thanks AtiaL! And what a fine idea for a new thread. No confirmation on that little nugget at the end of that article about Polly playing the Greek goddess renowned for her beauty and arrogance, Cassiopeia, in the remake of "Clash of the Titans", but since it's already been shot one would think they wouldn't have made it up. Interestingly, the actress who played Cassiopeia in the original was Sian Phillips, and every who's seen 'I Claudius' should be very familiar with her! -- Edited by AlexiosTheFirst at 08/28/2009 9:30 PM PDT
