Suggestions in order of 2007 reality: 1) CONTRIBUTE TO YOUR PUBLIC BROADCASTING STATION AND REQUEST THIS PRODUCTION BE AIRED AND MORE LIKE IT (e.g. BBC productions). Most of these stations run "I Claudius" during their pledge drives as an example of the best of PBS. 2) SUPPORT ANY FILM that is produced on the "Rome" backlot in Italy. They should have a production schedule. I have to say though, I saw "300" this last weekend no myth or sword&sandal epic may ever appear the same again as that truly was a feast of CGI at its best (but I don't think it will "kill" the idea of a production studio). 3) Buy a few 100,000 shares of Time Warner, the Uber-blanket of HBO (NYSE: TWX) and make vocal at a shareholder's meeting. Be happy to see the series performers in other work down the road, as they will be happy to be working and pleased with the instant fanship. Smile because you got to immerse yourself in a great and lively discussion group over the trappings of "ancient" life. Salve Citizens! You know even if it went on and on, the Empire would have to fall. PS - OZ wasn't cancelled, it was voluntarily ended by its creator, hence such a great almost perfectly concluded season with the prisoner's being evacuated due to bio-hazard. It had, however, pretty much become a body-soap opera anyway. I figure the Sopranos to wrap up the same way.

I am renewing HBO just because it has cancelled "ROME". Thank God!!!

Well, all movements have to start somewhere, so it never hurts to try. Maybe the BBC will continue production without HBO. Perhaps they could revisit Rome with a movie or two instead of continuing as a regular series. Unlike the other series mentioned which were mostly fictional, Rome has so much more history to work with. What a waste to stop now.

Preach on! Having been a long-time HBO watcher, I know that program loyalty is never reciprocated. Carnivalle: canceled. Deadwood: canceled. Sopranos: two good seasons, lots of crappy ones, then canceled. Oz: canceled. Does HBO honestly believe anyone subscribes to the channel for its movies? the only reason I subscribe is for the original series. With the cancelation of Rome, the only original series left worth a damn is Entourage. I'm having a hard time justifying paying for HBO just for that.

I doubt that it's a cancellation. To end this story with Octavian assuming the title of Emperor makes sense. However, this quality of program should be recognized. There should be emmys in its future!

Already signed, sealed and delivered! Cheri -- I would prefer the more literary Persephone to Mustang Sally...but, evidently the first is taken, and I do love my Mustang...my loved ones call me Cheri

I'm afraid it won't do any good, TPXIII, HBO has made its decision, and we can't influence it. Not unless we could produce a few million signatures and some financial backing. However, I commend you for trying.

The decision has been made. HBO does not care about the people who watch Rome, they are more concerned with the people who didn't. Whenever gave you the idea that program loyalty would be reciprocated? -- Ego venit , Ego vidi , Ego trinus super meus own feet: I came, I saw, I tripped over my own feet.

Sign the Petition for more Rome! It's a long shot folks, but maybe we can convince the powers that be that we have the viewership for another season. http://www.petitiononline.com/rome_hbo/petition.html
