In this picture at the NYC premiere, SJP looks like Butthead in drag from "Beavis & Butthead.

beachy - Why are you so worked up about people expressing their right to voice their own opinions? Just calm down! Some people love Aidan (or any other character you could name) and have a right to say so. We all know he is history as far as the story line goes (and admittedly the good reason was his own fault), but other people had their reasons for wanting to see him again in a cameo (since the last one was in 2003). Yes, John Corbett has said his last line on SATC, and Aidan is indeed over. But I'm sure everyone who was ever on the show has someone who would like to see them again. And they shouldn't be ridiculed and bullied into silence about saying so. This is an open forum for every one of us to freely express our opinions, but not to the point of attacking someone else's views. Who cares whoever each one of us loves or hates? They aren't even real people! We're all SATC fans! You need to "breathe and reboot". Stop these attacks on other people's opinons. You're antagonizing other people and only upsetting yourself.

Remember YOUR editorial comments on the SATC movie posted on Friday in Member Created Threads?: "It was goood but very summery fluff sort of thing. They always withheld them in the series too. Annoying. Anyone else think it was sort of hurried and lacking any substance? The show delved into their lives a lot deeper. MPK shouldn't get his tux ready for any director awards. Definitely summer froth. I heard there was much airbrushing. Big and the other men in the movie were kind of just showpieces. They didn't show alot of humility or personality. That was my main gripe with the movie...there wasn't much depth in any way. My tears came from the nostalgia it conjured. Jason Lewis needs a few more acting lessons. It's also hard to believe Carrie would take Big back again after he jilted her at the altar and even take responsibility in a way. The characterization isn't there as it was in the series. We saw very little of the supporting cast and even most of the boyfriends. Breaking her heart in two." Are these the words of a "real fan"? WTF, they sound like complaints to me! Sic 'er, Pete! :-D -- Edited by BigHater at 06/01/2008 9:30 AM PDT

Hey BigHater and all....I could care less about Aiden and his doggie Pete. I don't care about his name and spelling it right either. He is history and there's a good reason for that. Why would anyone want to see a cameo? He has had it already LOL
Corbutt has said his last line on SATC. Face it, he is OVAH.

To longislandlloyd: Ever since I registered (on John Corbett's birthday), I have wanted to tell you how much I have enjoyed your comments on Aidan and Big (latest example above). You express everything I want to say about them, but always seem to get targeted for. What you say about Big makes me laugh and what you say about Aidan makes me smile. Thank you, friend!

To BigHater: Thank you for the part of your post below that defends the latest attack on me--I really appreciate it. But I have to warn you, the name you have chosen is not good around these parts. Watch your back! (Look at my name!) And some of your language is a bit saltier than I have read here. You'd better tone it down a bit! But thank you again!

To beachy: Read down a few posts to what this newcomer says and then tell me--how do you spell the sound of a raspberry? :^O

Now for all the pluses in the movie..
Very funny lines.
Very crative.
Great scenery of NYC...as usual.
It was a great the way the lives of all the characters were all tied up in a nice little package.
Most of the cast looked fantastic and it was great to see thm all again doing their thing.
It brought back some wonderful memories and provided some new ones.
Lots of emotional highs and lows, although everything was fairly predictable.
I think Charlotte looked the best of all..surprise, surprise.
And I'm happy that she's so happy.
She's wound up with everything she's ever wanted in life and will have the happiest future of all of them.
Mazel tov to her.
SJP looked very good for most of the movie, but I did see her in some very uinflattering angles and shots.
She's not nearly as beautful as Kristin.

Lots more good stuff in the moive.
Need more time to think about my fave's.

i guess NYC SATC girls are reall low-lifes for the way they behaved so "badly"....according to some here.

All that excitement DID add to the movie and did not detract at all.
I guess NY girls more closely identify with the City and the characters than anyone else.
So they're even more into it than those "normal" ones.

Hey guys!

I guess I can comment on the movie here and nobody will get annoyed.

I thoroughly enjoyed it and it was exactly what I expected.
I'll give you the few minusses before all the plusses.

I've always hated Miranda, and now I hate her even more.
Steve should have permanently left her like a MAN and not begged for her forgiveness.
Stop being such a wimp, Steve, and take Brady away from that man-hating sexless bitch of a woman.
No sex for 6 months?
Miranda should go live with a woman, instead of demasiculating a good man.
Life imitating art.

It's no secret that I'm an Aidan guy and dislike Big.
Nothing changed my mind about Big in the movie.
He's still a pompous prick and always will be.
Aidan should have come back from Suffern and swept Carrie off her feet.
But Carrie wants a turblent life with a two-timing, leave- her-at-the-altar kinda guy.
I wish her luck.

Much too much fashion for the average guy to watch without falling asleep.
Good thing there were a few good T & A scenes to tittilate my fancy.
Although seeing Miranda naked made me throw up my Mexican nachos dinner.
Was hoping to see Charlotte naked.
Tired of seeing Harry's hairy butt parading around.

Not a big fan of Harry either.
Charlotte shoulda dumped that bald headed Mets fan and married THIS bald headed Mets fan.

Would have liked to see a good eye scrathing bitch fight between Anthony and Stanford.
Can't believe they kissed and made up.

Too much chick flick emotion, crying, and sulking.
Some guys are willing to take their girl to this kind of movie, but expect to see at least one car chase, drive-by shooting, or sporting event in the film.

And the film ran a little long.
MP King coulda cut down on some of the fashion and crying scenes.
The TV show runs a whole lot faster.

beachy - Just who do you think you are telling people off the way you're doing on these message boards? I have been reading through them. Are you policing them? I registered this morning and saw the movie this afternoon and I didn't like it either. And I happen to hate "JJP" too. I was hoping to see Big Shit kick the bucket. What a letdown! ROTFLOL! I can't say that anyone left or fell asleep, but no one clapped or oohed and aahed where I was. I guess we're from a better neighborhood more respectful of our admission-paying fellow moviegoers. Then again, maybe I live in one of those Aidanlands you mentioned. BTW, as long as you like to correct everybody so much, you might like to know that there is no "E" in Aidan. And his pun would be spelled "Maui'd", not "mauied". That girl before you did say "cameo". Do you even know what that word means? If you did, you would know that it obviously doesn't mean she expects Aidan would come to take Carrie away with him & Pete and the K.F.C. Look it up in a dictionary! You know what they are--big books with lots of words and very few, if any, pictures. There are others here who didn't like the movie. It was an overhyped load of bullshit...just like Big! Start with the rest of us! Who are you to judge who real fans are? We are ALL real fans (whether or not we liked the movie!). Are you sure you are? You don't even spell Aidan correctly! And you don't even know his dog's name? Stop your own whining and learn to accept opinions that differ from yours! We are all entitled to post our thoughts here! And that includes the movie/Big haters!

Have a nice weekend! :) -- Edited by BigHater at 05/31/2008 5:55 PM PDT

I copied this from my post on the Carrie thread..
===========================

Hi Ronnie and friends here..
Great movie and even a greater crowd.
Some women were dressed in their favorite SATC character outfits.
Most were just decked out in typical NYC fashion.
And my friends and I in typical NY "suburban" fashion.

There was so much excitement in and out of the theatre.
I've never seen anything like it.
The audience started screaming as the movie first came on and they remained in high gear and intense all throughout.
Many were reciting lines with the characters.
Others were screaming out at them..like I shouted, "I Love You Charlotte"!
My friends thought I was nuts, but nearly everyone made some kind of outburst.

Lots of chatter during the movie..... laughing and crying every few minutes.
I couldn't help making comments to my friends which annoyed some women around me.
Tough s. on then.

Very few men there and even fewer fans over 30.
So I stuck out like a sore thumb, as did the other 2 guys who accompanied their wives.
When the movie ended, there were loud outbursts of screaming and applauding.
Again, I've never seen this for a movie, only at a hockey or baeball game.
The noise and excitement continued when the crowd squeezed out of the theater and onto Broadway and 19th St.

So it was some kind of unforgettable night.
Leave it to all those involved in the movie and to our friends at HBO to produce such an enjoyable film.
'I thank them all for this great experience, AND a thoroughly entertaining movie.

The people in my theater clapped and oohed and ahhed when the sex and the city music played, also when Big proposed and when they got married in the end? Where were you? In Aidenland somewhere? LOL
I don't know why you would go and see a movie that obviously would pick up where the series ended if you were waiting to see Aiden and his dog waltz back into the movie with his KFC and wisk Carrie away to get "mauied."
Stop whining, it was for the real fans anyway.

I couldn't agree more with everything you said! Though I would like to add that even just a cameo with Aidan would have been nice. I think Carrie's only other "great love" deserved at least that much. (The only recognition he got aside from the page in the book was that nasty line from Samantha about "That mess with Aidan".) They even got rid of his chair in her apartment redecoration towards the end. X-(

I saw the movie last night and I was terribly disappointed with it--and with Carrie at the end. Just like a moth to a flame. She'll never learn. We have been jerked around for 10 years, watching her make the same sad mistakes with men, and now we see that nothing has changed. But then, I have never liked Big--ever! I thought the movie was too long and too predictable. I didn't laugh (though I almost smiled twice) and I didn't cry (though I did mourn my own loss of $10). Some of the people in the theater actually got up & left long before the movie was over, and some fell asleep! I dearly love the SATC TV episodes, and to borrow a line from another TV show, "Once again, something I love has been turned into a crapfest!". :(

P.S. I hope MPK and SJP read this. -- Edited by aidanshawsgirl at 05/31/2008 2:00 PM PDT
