hey "suprised" get over it! you obviosly never watched the show very much... as much as i LOVE the show, and loved the movie even more, they occassionaly say slightly racist/sexist things...um, hello, the whole show is BASED on being sexist... and no DUH what happened with charlotte doesnt happen to everyone! they gave up on trying and then were blessed, sorry, but that actually DOES happen to a few lucky ppl... i'm so glad you canceled your hbo and am glad you wont be at the next SATC movie... -- Edited by arielirene at 06/03/2008 9:52 AM PDT

As a long-time dedicated fan, I was deeply disappointed by several thoughtless comments made in the film regarding other cultures (did Miranda really say "... follow the white guy! That is where we want to be!" ?) I counted two other scenes where I couldn't believe what I was hearing. It was like travelling back in time 20 years. Many of your target audience are women over the age of thirty, and throughout the series have elegantly dealt with difficult subject matter that befalls us, such as breast cancer and infertility. As a female struggling with infertility, the last thing I expected to hear at the movie was the horrifying cliché of a successful pregnancy cited as a result of adoption, having giving up trying, and just plain relaxing. Infertility is a medical problem, never treated or cured by any of the above events any sooner than would someone with cancer or a broken leg. Making that assertion would be the equivalent of stating that someone not getting cured of an illness is due to the fact that the patient wanted too much to be well. Insensitive, and another 20 year step backward for women. I had planned to see the movie a few times, and of course eventually own it; however the incidence of culturally insensitive scenarios broke the SATC spell for me for good. I cannot understand how the crew who nailed such an important voice for our culture could take such a wrong turn in this much anticipated closure to a much loved series. Cancelled my HBO today and tuning back to NPR.

Smith could've done alot worse! lol -- ********* Host_Ginna HBO Forums Host

One word... WOW...!! It was far better than I expected, I LOVED the series so I knew it would be good but had hidden away from the rumours so knew nothing of the story lines except Carrie & a wedding dress some how! It had some dark moments, but on the whole it had fun laughter & tears too.. So well put together & so well done.. & I didnt see the mic's either My hubby came with me, he's not a major fan, but he will watch the odd one with me & he thought it was good to, he was able to follow it easily & didnt once ask me anything about "why was that etc" as he could follow it so that was great..Mind you, I think he also knew it was a "no speaking" zone *ggg* 3 tissues later (yes I am a softie) & it was over.. I dont personally feel they could follow that now, it just wouldnt be able to have the drama as it is its just finished it all off so perfectly.. -- Edited by Jazz2004 at 06/02/2008 4:40 AM PDT -- Edited by Jazz2004 at 06/02/2008 4:48 AM PDT

Don't read my post if you haven't seen it. Loved it. I thought the visuals of Carrie trying on wedding dresses was beautiful. The way Charlotte yelled at Big was powerful. Carrie going to Miranda's house on New Years Eve was touching. The scene in Mexico and Carrie laughing was so well done. Jennifer Hudson was good and I loved her because she help Carrie when she needed it. The scene on the Brooklyn bridge was great. I could go on and on... I will see it again and buy it because, like the series, I get more out of it the more I see it. I really want it to do well because I am tired of chick flicks not doing well at the box office. Thank you to all who made this happen and thanks for all the years of great meaningful entertainment!! Deborah Chicago, IL

Oh my gosh...the movie was fabulous! I am 18, married a year, expecting as of four months ago, and went and saw the movie with my mother. We laughed so hard we cried! I don't care what anyone says, the movie was fantastic and I'm buying it as soon as it comes out! It was far better than either of us had expected...we loved it.

SJP is just pure class---there's nothing else to say. To some, she may not be the most glamorous woman in the world, but she is very pretty and she just drips with class--no other words to describe her. Everyone has different taste, and I can accept that. I loved the movie. And what about those gorgeous pearls that Carrie wore in a few scenes in the movie---exquisite! I went to the first show on Friday, and I was not disappointed in the least. I ordered the soundtrack and plan to get the DVD when it comes out. I never watched the series on HBO so didn't start watching until it came out on TBS. I immediately bought the DVD series. I have been in love with Mr. Big since the beginning. I am hoping the movie is a huge success. If you have not purchased the June issue of Vogue yet, it has a huge story on the movie.

I never said I personally knew JFK, Jr. There are not many bars near the Brown campus so running into JFK, Jr. was a common thing. I am not sure why anyone would brag about going to Brown. It was not one of my top choices but destiny brought me there. As for SJP, she may have her millions and skills (loved her in Seabiscuit), but no one has ever called me a horse. I am too secure with myself to compare myself to other goodlooking people.

Oh sure Dino and I doubt you know JFK Jr or went to Brown. You could only wish to be as goodlooking as he or be able to date women like he could attract. Like it or not, SJ has made millions with her talent and looks. What have you done with your life? I think she is quite attractive in a classic way. Jealousy leads people to criticism, especially the type you rant. Take it somewhere else.
