I did read conflicting stories about what happened (the company folded, the owner went back to school, the new owner never materialized, etc.) so I'm not sure what's true. I saw a website that features hairbrushes designed by NYC Peach with photos, but it also contains the link to the defunct website. Anyone else have any info? -- ********* Host_Ginna HBO Forums Host

See, they blend in and aren't so obvious like mine are! I used to be blonde, VERY blonde when I was a teen because I used to color it even then. I think I was trying to look like the 80's version of Madonna. LOL I love how auburn hair looks, so I began to lean toward what highlights I had to accentuate it. Now I am just lazy and it's the brown I was talking about with all that gray. I feel like the female version of Taylor Hicks! (And I dance that badly too! LOL) -- ********* Host_Ginna HBO Forums Host

Hey, does anyone know what happened to NYC Peach. She is the one that did SJP's crystal phone for the series. She used to come in and chat with us. I went looking for her site but couldn't find it.

Designer labels have always been outrageously expensive. I think that few of us shopped or were aware of the high end stuff until this show came to be. I remember in the 60's my Mom's cousin (who had money) bought me a party dress. My mom was afraid to let me wear it because "it cost more than our mortgage payment". I always thought it was strange that my "Aunt" talked about clothes using funny names like "that Chanel bag".

I like ponytails too, but my hair is quite long, thick and heavy, so when I wear a ponytail it seems to pull my face back and shows off my high forehead, which I hate. It just makes me look more severe than happy-go-lucky! That's me, anyway! So most days, I pull the sides into the back and hold it in place with a clip. I can't stand hair in my face, very irritating! My biggest challenge now is figuring out how to hide my color-resistant grays!! lol -- ********* Host_Ginna HBO Forums Host

Beachy: My husband calls me "a perpetual teenager" cause most of the time my long hair's in a ponytail~ very rarely does he get to see it down my back! In summer I wash it every other day and rinse it with ice cold water to bring out the shine. And I always let my hair "air dry" when possible!! Hair accessories are a "major thing with me" I'm forever buying bananna clips, barettes, elestic bands, brushes shampoo, conditioner etc! But I won't cut it!! My dad's late father was an Italian Barber!!! He got his sissors on my hair twice in his life~ once when I was about 6 and again when I was 15! LOL

LOL I keep my hair fairly short in the summer because of the heat and humidity here. I don't know how anyone could stand that long thick hair in the temps in the south. I have thick hair that gets unruly in the muggy weather too. My daughter has long hair but she uses plenty of scrunchies to tame it back away from her face.

I heard she never wore her hair in any way that she couldn't fix herself, unless it was for a special occasion where anyone would have gone to a hair dresser. She did wear a lot of extensions though. I sure didn't like her hair in that Vogue episode, with the 2 tone "skunk" look and so short and chopped. And she made sure to mention it in the episode too..."I had a new doo", well, honey I could have done without THAT new doo! At least it didn't last long; she must not have liked it that much! I thought it was funny that she and the other girls were so disdainful of "scrunchies". I couldn't live without them! My hair is long and curly and when I can't stand it crawling on my neck in the summer, up in a scrunchy it goes! I guess I couldn't stand on line at a hip trendy restaurant in NY with my hair like that! ha ha.

In the episode where Carrie goes to the bar Scout to meet Aidan and thank him for taking Miranda to the chiropractor, she is wearing, I believe, a skirt and short shirt that shows off her flat, toned stomach, her hair is long and sleek and she has a "newsboy" cap on her head. My SATC-hating hubby walked through the room and glanced at the Tv, and stopped, riveted. "Man I love her outfits" he laughed, and continued on his way. Ha ha, caught you looking!

Beachy: You can't imagine how many times I've seen the "influence" of the film/series on women around where I live~ from the shoes, dress styles, fashion trends. Last time I went to the doctor's office I saw one of the ladies wearing a black dress with a X-wide black elastic belt that she had underneath her breasts! She was wearing Black Coach slides with the dress! Looked really good!!

you know, I never caught that about the different shoes but I remember it being mentioned at the time. That Pat Fields has thought of everything. One of my favorites? was the belt around the bare waist on an outfit carrie was wearing iwhile walking down the street with Samantha I think. SJ said that she enjoyed the scenes where they were walking outside and chatting. To her they seemed so real. It was kind of funny when Carrie would have on such strange outfits and the other girls wouldn't even comment on them. I loved when Mrs. Cohen remarked "that is a crazy outfit." The older lady who wouldn't move out ofthe apartment next door fast enough.
