Wow, two months since I last posted. My precious P-Dogg , my Black Labrador Retriever, passed on July 12 of old age. I was devastated for four days and was even too nauseous to eat and I could not sleep. Now I am OK and walking our other dog every day. P-Dogg was my best friend for many, many years . Life just passes so quickly. We scattered her ashes where I first walked her at City Park. My daughter cried . -- It's a Sad and Beautiful World

Hello all, race - my condolences. You'll always remember the person who's left, but time will hopefully ease the pain a bit. m4 - good to "see" you! I drove by an Azteca not long ago and thought of you. Hope things are well. If you get back to the Seattle area, drop me a note! Balagirl - welcome to SFU. It'll be interesting for you to watch MCH as David after you've gotten to know Dexter, but I totally agree with the poster who said that the writing of SFU makes Dexter's writing seem like a 7th Grade Philosophy paper. It's still one of the best ensemble shows I've ever watched.

I just finished Season Five (have watched the entire series in a month) and I feel so empty. This was a fantastic series that completely captured me. Had the samed experience with "Carnivale". Thanks HBO for excellent television. I believe I will think of the Fishers every time I pass a funeral parlor or cemetary.

I just started watching this show (online). I'm currently on S02E03. I tried to watch it when it was on TV, but it wasn't love at first sight. I'm addicted to it now.

One other thing...for now. Was trying to recall what else I just saw SFU actors starring in. It was Patricia Clarkson (Ruth's sister Sarah on SFU) and Chris Messina (Claire's guy toward the end of the final season. PC and CM were in Vicky Cristina Barcelona. A cute flick. But they weren't in leading roles and not part of a threesome.

Luvzebra, I'm very glad you have at least one person with whom to share memories. That's not always a given but it's so important. My mother says a lot of people clam up when she mentions Dad (10 years later Father's Day is still kind of for me), so Mom appreciates it when I talk about him with her even though I can't relate on the level of widowhood. It is nice to "see" you again, "snoop." M

This particular work of Alan Ball's really mucked with my process which at times seemed bad but ultimately led to changes for the better. Nothing has ever been quite like that show and these threads...before or since.

Hello to my old friends! My old VW "Happy Bus" is now just a place to store my lawn mower---has not run for 3 years now. I am retired nearly 7 years now, and I was still working when I first came here in 2001...wow, long time ago. If these threads ever go away for good, I'll always remember this as the place where we shared our lives and held nothing back, and the group we had here was (and is) comprised of the best people in the world. Alan Ball's work just drew us together. -- It's a Sad and Beautiful World

I watched SFU a couple years ago and was blown away. Been meaning to watch again and prompted to do so sooner after getting into DEXTER. It blew me away all over again. Even better the second time. The absolute best thing I've ever seen onscreen - acting, writing etc. Never seen such complex and real female characters - the sadness of Ruth, the anger in Claire and Brenda. This time I went through all 60+ episodes in less than a week. When it was over I got the bends. I'm spoiled for anything else.
