Hey! Happy Thanksgiving to all y'all! Saw MSP on NCIS Los Angeles a short while back -- he looked lovely but that show . . . ugh. Not that the eye candy is bad but ..... ugh. Haven't watched Alien Raiders yet. Maybe over the long weekend - nice to have the two day break for Thanksgiving! Have been watching Dexter's new season or two. I find it less compelling/riveting than the first season but somehow I think I should have expected that to happen with a show like this. Regardless, MCH is a joy to watch. Hope y'all are well -- happy & healthy -- and enjoy the upcoming holidays.

Hello out there! Hope all are well. V, I haven't read any of E. Lynn's works, I'm a bit ashamed to say. Sorry to hear of his passing. We've lost a lot of personalities in 2009.

MSP was recently on a Saving Grace episode titled "Looks like a Lesbian Attack to Me". It can be watched on TNT's website. MSP is expected to be on the new NCIS:LA. It sounds like a guest starring role that may turn into a recurring character. That's all I got. -- Edited by 1ofmany at 08/29/2009 12:39 AM PDT

Wow. E Lynn Harris died. Every time I see his name or hear of him or pick up one of his books I can't help but think of Frank and Fred. I'm rather stunned and quite sad. E Lynn gave us some of the best gay characters and both Raymond and Basil, two of his best, will forever be tucked away in a special place with me. God Speed and Rest Well, E Lynn. You will be missed.

Hello Everyone! Long time no see. MCH's movie Gamer with Gerard Butler is due for a September 4 release. Feels like that thing was shot a few years ago! On the Twilight topic, I'd resisted it until my niece brought it up with her on a visit and insisted I watch it. Now I own a copy. I liked the dark aspect of the story, and the 'Robsten' thing is easy to put out of mind. They're not a bad couple onscreen, but I don't get the vapors over Robert Pattinson. It got me interested where I still haven't caught onto True Blood, go figure.

Ummmmm nevermind! I rewatched True Blood this afternoon on the on-demand after reading some posts on the True Blood boards and as I said over there I won't be taking any xanax until after 10PM on Sunday nights anymore. I can NOT believe I didn't remember seeing Lafayette in Eric's dungeon. I feel so, so stupid -- Getting old sucks!

vickidear, If you really feel the need to see Twilight please don't say I didn't warn you If you are older than 16 I doubt this movie is going to give you any enjoyment. Because I am the best grandma EVER I bought the DVD for my grandaughter when it came out. My daughter who is 42 got roped into watching it with her daughter ( my grandaughter) and she wanted to blow her brains out halfway through the movie. It was definetly made for tweens and teens. If you do see it I would love to hear your opinion of it. I just hope you don't go into a coma while watching it you seem like such a nice person. I will check back now and then to see if you've seen it. Well True Blood got off to a good start last night I thought. I am so glad the body in the car wasn't Lafayette, but where the hell is he??? I hope he turns up soon. -- Getting old sucks!

> Sleepwalking isn't a snooze, but it's a downer. The film belongs to Nick Stahl and the little girl. MSP plays a concerned small town detective. 1ofmany - Yeah, I knew his wasn't a HUGE role but it's still nice to see him in . . . . most anything. And yes, it's still sitting in the dvd player. I keep telling myself, "I'll watch it tonight" but that has yet to happen. I guess that's due in part to the fact that I know it's not exactly a happy happy joy joy movie. rixtrix - there's not much activity here anymore but it's nice to stop in and see if anyone's got any info and see a new face. I don't think any tv show will ever compare to SFU - it is in a class of its own as far as I'm concerned. True Blood is good stuff though and having the fingers of Alan Ball all over it is a joy to behold. I'm certainly looking forward to the S2 premiere this Sunday! I haven't seen Twilight yet but my love of all things vampire dictates I must at least check it out. I've heard both good and bad about it and something tells me the age of the person talking about it has a lot to do with how good/bad the comments are.

MSP is in the beginning scenes, a small scene towards the middle of the film, then shows up at the end when all is said and done. Dennis Hopper plays the evil dad out of central casting. As for Alien Raiders having MSP wear that fleece top with baby vomit on it and wearing a baseball cap all through the movie, I think the director was trying to hide the pretty!

I thought the movie had Alan Ball written all over it and it made me think about American Beauty too. Six Feet Under was and always will be my very favorite show. I never missed an episode while it aired and I own all five seasons on DVD and have watched them at least five times I did watch True Blood and can't wait for season two. I don't love it like SFU but I do like it very much. I have always had a "thing" for Vampires except for the ones in the movie Twilight. I let my grandaughter talk me into taking her to see it. Awful, awful movie in every respect or maybe i'm just too old to appreciate it. -- Getting old sucks! -- Edited by rixtrix at 05/08/2009 10:53 PM PDT

1ofmany --- I've had "Sleepwalking" in the dvd player for a couple/few weeks now and just haven't gotten to hitting play. I knew he was a cop in that though. Now "War"? I enjoyed that one and didn't mind at all his cop role, well, except for that one part. Thanks for the opinion on Alien Raiders - I'm hoping to score a cheap copy soon. rixtrix --- welcome aboard! Thanks for the info on "Personal Effects". I wasn't really expecting a blockbuster flick but with Pfeiffer and Kutcher attached, the straight to dvd sort of surprised me. The trailers I've seen look pretty good - I'll give it a go. As for "Towelhead" - I actually just watched that last weekend. INTERESTING movie to say the least. Reminded me a bit of "American Beauty" here and there but seemed a bit darker in some way. Really good acting from everyone though and certainly a bit uncomfortable in spots. "Ball Don't Lie" is a movie that MSP is in. Nothing to do with Alan Ball. But you know - if you are a fan of Alan Ball ----- "True Blood" is a show to check out. Season 1 should be out on dvd this month. I'd certainly recommend it. Have you seen it?

It wasn't all that good but it wasn't the worst movie i've ever seen either. I had posted on another thread a few months ago to see if anyone had seen the movie Towelhead. It is a novel that Alan Ball wrote the screenplay for and he also directed the movie. I also saw this online months ago and thought it was an excellent movie. It's been out in video stores for a while now. It is well worth renting. I have never heard of Ball Don't Lie and at the risk of sounding stupid does it have anything to do with Alan Ball? I will watch anything he is even remotely involved with.
