okay so everyone has a theory about how the show ended and what it meant. So if you had a chance to write the ending how would you have done it? -- __________________________ Jaydes HBO Forums Host

Here's an idea: ..the restaurant door opens, Meadow enters, Tony greets her (with an annoyed look--she's late, yet he's happy to see her), Meadow says she had a hard time parallel parki--[cutting to]--the restroom door opening--to reveal the suspicious man coming out [apparently harmless looking] Tony looks at him and he makes eye contact, and the man makes a friendly grin and nod back (distracting him to what was happening at the--)--the two black men, now holding guns pointing at the counter, shouting at the cashier to give them the cash, Tony then nonchalantly but hurriedly shields his family from the gunmen -- patrons of the restaurant shocked, screamed--the other suspicious man at the other table panics and tries to run (to duck)--was then mistakenly shot by one of the robbers in panic--at the same time the restroom guy, jumps on the floor and shoots the shooter and mortally wounds him, but the jittery (less-experienced) other robber shoots him back and the man gets fatally shot himself--slumped at the floor bleeding to death, tony sees a hidden badge id, the guy looking at him, somewhat disappointed at his fate/and assignment, never getting the chance to know the guy he was tailing--the New Jersey crime boss, Tony Soprano (a government internal affairs agent, gathering evidence between tony and the FBI agent who earlier tipped him about a recently killed mob boss' whereabouts) and Tony with only one look at him, immediately realizes this.. Gathering his thoughts about what just happened, calming his family and getting them out of the restaurant quickly, Tony looks back, his eyes gleaming, thoughts running through his mind, his family's vulnerability.. --it's a whole new ball game.. Unfinished business.. - A new investigation. - A major Federal indictment. - An unsteady crime family. - Bitter allies. - And new soldiers. Family.. - A new home. - New careers. - A cat. ..and a new Psychiatrist.. "..back on the saddle again.." [ fade to black ] TITLE: The Sopranos: Family Ties.. - Mike ^_^ -- "I'm NO Angel!" ^_^

Lisa, sorry! I agree, this show did not need what it seems everyone wanted, to see Tony's brains exploded all over Carm's face, and Med walking to her father to see that. We've seen that. We've cried over Tony's shooting, by Uncle Jun, this show was too good to be given a 'pat' ending. sorry was for I called you Angela, before I edited.... -- Edited by cissyyost at 05/12/2008 9:11 PM PDT -- Edited by cissyyost at 05/12/2008 9:12 PM PDT

I really liked how it ended. I know many would like it all wrapped up in a nice package so you know if he lived or died but I don't think that this show needed that. The way it ended made it so you could make it what you wanted it to be. I would not have it any other way.

Exactly the way it happened. If you put the opening music with the closing music, I've never seen anything dovetail together quite so sweetly.

Jimmy Petrille, he was released from jail during the release of the 2004 mobster class. He was the consigliere to the Lupertazzi family. It is unknown as to what happened to Jimmy. Presumably Jimmy has since entered the Witness Protection Program (although this has not been mentioned).

Errr not Larry, I meant Carlo Gervasi who turned rat. His future and the ramifications of his testimony against Tony are unknown. In the series finale, Gervasi's son was picked up by the FBI for drug-dealing. Gervasi failed to show up for a meeting with Paulie Walnuts, which worried Tony Soprano that he may have been cutting a deal. Soprano's attorney confirmed that someone was, in fact testifying before a grand jury and that indictments were forthcoming. In the final scene, Tony told Carmela that Carlo was testifying, thus confirming that he turned informant, likely to keep his son out of jail and possibly out of revenge for the murder of his cousin.

David Chase is an idiot if he doesn't go through with plans on making a Sapranos movie. There were a few scenes in the show that were unfinished. * The Russian who Chrissy and Paulie "thought" they killed. It was never confirmed the Russian was dead. For a movie, this would be great, the KGB vs. the New Jersey and New York mobsters. That would be classic. * Junior, nother is ever resolved when he's left to rot in that mental institute. They made sound like he was trying to break out or something. * Tony's dream after being shot by Junior. Perhaps Tony gets in over his head while his click is fighting the Russian mob and the FBI offer him a way out. * Tony's other dreams. There was an episode where him and Paulie were playing cards, Paulie wins and Tony shoots Paulie, what does this mean? * Terrorist, Tony has a great fear of terrorist. Even the FBI agent who was serveying Tony's house has switch cases. Perhaps the switching of cases for this FBI agent signifies that Tony accidentally switches his brief case and wallet (aka Kevin Finnerty Tony's Dream). I've alwasy felt the FBI agent never really wanted Tony to get arrested. * Tony's RICO case. It was stated there that Larry was a Rat and he had alot of harmful things against Tony. What happens? Does he get involved in perhaps another New York blood bath? How about a KGB mofia comes to play with Tony? Or maybe a terrorist cell tries to kill Tony for giving the FBI agent his name. I sure as hell hope they resolve the series and shed some light into everything. They need to finish what they started.
