Season 6 Part II Predictions

How will Tony deal with new stresses, life-altering decisions at home, pressure from the law, and trouble on the job that leaves no one - no one - above suspicion?

Simple. It was the ballsiest most intelligent ending that could have ended the best show ever.

I was a bit shocked, upset, and disappointed at the end. But then I began to notice that there was NO SOUND AT THE CREDITS. Still thought my TV was broken. Luckily, although i had been "whacked", I did not know it yet and was able to crawl to the computer and begin to read about the ending.

I quickly ascertained that it was totally brilliant. It seems all on this board, self included, got caught up in the what happens to whom type of thing, which, although great, was never what the show was about, so why would the ending be about it?

The NO SOUND at the credits was PURE GENIUS at its best. We will be lucky if we EVER see its equal on TCV again. What a greta time for the entire of the 7 or so years of The Sopranos to wash over one's psyche. WOW.

So, not only did no one guess the ending on this board, but NO ONE EVEN GUESSED THE LAST SONG. In spite of all the super SPOILER intelligence about Nine Inch Nails crapola :)

So, from that respect, Mr. Chase beat us fair and square! I, for one, tip my hat to all involved in the show and this board. OK, all involved in the show and MOST involved in this board :)

And thank God that in subsequent interviews that Mr. Chase REFUSED to regale us with what the "meaning" of the ending was. I mean, Imagine Jackson Pollack EXPLAINING one of his paintings. Nope!

I am actually looking quite forward to this weeks ENTOURAGE. I have always had a fantasy of being a Columbian Smuggler, so it should be a perfect show for me.

And I think I will like the Chonchords. What a goofy girl next door they have!

But I stand proud as a Major Fan of The Sopranos. I am not expecting anything like it to come around any time soon.

Thanks all for letting me share this experience!

The bathroom was at Tony's right. The guy that went to the bathroom didn't kill Tony because Tony wasn't looking to his right when the screen went black. He was looking straight ahead at the door.

~The ending to the Sopranos..now it makes sense.~

Everything just goes black and you dont hear anything.

**Finally, an explanation to the Sopranos Ending...**

Here is where the genius comes in or someone VERY observent

When Tony walks into the Holston's, you see the camera focus on him,
then it
switches to his perspective, and you see him looking @ the booth hes
gonna
sit at...

Then the camera switches back to Tony's face, then it once again
switches to his perspective, and it shows him looking @ the door and
looking
@ the people come in..... Everytime the door opens the chimes
sound.......

Carmela walks in, Chimes.
AJ walks in, Chimes.

This all happens while Meadow is parallel parking, still trying to get
inside the restaurant....

At this point the camera switches back Nikki Leotardo who goes in the
bathroom...

Then it goes to a scene where Meadow finally parks and starts running
into
the diner...

The door is about to open, Tony looks up...

and No Chimes...

No Music...

Everything just goes black...

In one of the early episodes of the Sopranos, Tonys is talking with
Bobby
about what it must feel like to die.

Bobby says, "at the end, you probably dont hear anything, everything
just
goes black!"

This idea was revisited in the second to last episode during the
last seconds of it, when Tony is about to go to sleep and he flashes
back to
the memory of him and Bobby on the boat... "You probably dont hear
anything
everything just goes black"

So in the end, the Journey song was playing, the chimes on the door
sounded
but when Meadow came in, someone killed Tony.

This is the reason you didn't hear or see shit when he died.... it was
from
his perspective... and everything went black, then the credits.

I GET IT!!!!!!!!!!

No, they weren't all about to get whacked at the end. The whole episode was about not being what you thought it would be. From the very start when Tony and Paulie went to the parking lot and the long wait for the mysterious contact... then we saw Agent Harris. We thought Tony was gonna work with the feds, and he did, but in a different way. Then with Paulie acting all squirrely and not taking the job, we thought he had flipped, but he didn't. When AJ and his girl were making out and the smoke started pouring, we thought he was gonna get blown up, but he didn't. On and On. Everyone was predicting one of three endings, Tony gets whacked, everybody but Tony gets whacked, or Tony flips. But it was not what we thought it would be. This goes back to the revelation Tony had in the dessert - he thought all that time that he had to carry Chrissy, but Chrissy was 'the albacore around his neck' that was bringing him down. The flash of light was about letting go.. I GET IT!

prosecution can drop charges and refile under the scenario you describe, double jeopardy applies only if a verdict already has been rendered

NY LICENSE PLATE in final scene
1. Is the guy in the members only jacket the same guy that shot silvio?

2. As meadow was parking her car my widescreen showed a NY license plate...Does that mean the guy in the members only jacket is from NY?

3. In like the first 15 minutes of the episode...Phil calls his members in NY...the little guy on the cell phone and some other guy are walking outside, then for some reason the other guy just turns around and walks the other way??? Who did he see or meet?

So what if the guy in the members only jacket was from the NY crew and is the same guy that shot silvio...Silvio's gun shots were in the shoulder and in the kidneys...so that proves the members only jacket guy was a bad shooter...Tony has survived death throughout the entire series, I would only expect him to do the same from the diner scene on.

Oh, I agree. And what you said will probably happen if they make the movie.

They are not dead as I described. But, if they really KILLED the show for EVER, then it should have gone out with a bang.

You know, like there will be no Scare Face II because the bullets only glazed him, and he just felt like going for a swim.

Lives continue, Tony stays the boss, roll credits to an instrumental version of Metallica's "Astronomy"

The real Mafia, two ways out whacked or prison.

BUT I WANTED TO SEE IT!!!

Here it is: LAST SCENE

Tony is looking at the door, the bell rings. The brothers enter, the guy at the bar who came in earlier (and who set the thing up) has gone to the john when he knows that it is about to go down.

Meadow enters the door, black out....NOOOOOOOO

Instead, all three brows pull out their gacks (Pistols, not their shlongs) and fire away at Tony. BOOM, BOOM, BOOM, etc

Carm starts to stand, her legs between the table and the seat, turns toward the killers screaming BOOM, BOOM, BOOM, she goes down brains shooting out everywhere, AJ falls out of his seat to the floor, screaming like a baby BOOM, BOOM, BOOM, chest, head gut he falls over.

Meadow not being one to flea, runs toward her already dead family screaming in agony.

She runs past the brothers who have stopped firing, slips on some of AJ's blood to her knees at the end of the table.

A slow camera pan across the table. Carm laying on the table in a pile of onion rings, Tony still in a seated position slowly slumps down.

The camera pans to Meadow still on her knees with a hand on the front of the table to keep her balance after slipping on the blood, and the other hand on her panting chest. Her face white, her eyes red filled with an expression of shock and horror like we have never seen, looking at what has happened, then a quick head turn toward the gunman.

The camera pans back to the brothers, still holding their guns toward the family. Seconds pass as the camera pans with a slow zoom toward the closest brother to the table.

We see the expression on the brothers face. Cold, hard, indifferent. His eyes like that of a shark, cold almost dead looking.

Still pointing his gun as the other two in shadow, and without a twitch BOOM, smoke out of the end of the gun as an empty bullet shell flies away.

We hear the shell hit the floor, then a soft thug.

Slow, gray, distorted cross fade.

An aerial view over the table fades in of the entire family shot down.

As the camera slowly zooms out, the frozen family in frame moves away in the distant the scene slowly fades to black as the music begins to play. Roll credits.

The End

if this has already been posted then I apologize....sorry!

I heard on the radio this morning that Journey's singer Steve Perry didn't give Chase permission to use the song 'Don't Stop Believing' untill theThursday before the show aired on the 10th...
It was said that Pery didn't want his song to be part of the Saprano family getting whacked. and insisted that Chase tell him the ending, or he wouldn't let them use the song! so that's why it just ended that way.....silly huh?
