And notice how, in the end, his nose was his downfall; not because he hoovered half of Columbia up there and turned his heart into a bag of blood, but because T Soprano couldn't resist pinching that big konk and snuffing him out.

If you're saying that the show was the characters, then yes, of course, that's true. Still doesn't mean you have to like them, though. It isn't a prerequisite. It wasn't The A-Team.

You don't have to like the characters in order to watch the show.
