Tony DID Get Whacked!
The only question is by whom?
Remember first Tony's comments earlier this season about getting whacked (which were also replayed the previous week). Tony said,
"You don't see it coming; you don't feel nothing; everything just fades to black." That was the ending.
As for by whom; take note of the credits for the folks in the restaurant at the end.
Nikki Leotardo: The guy at the counter that goes to the bathroom is Nikki Leotardo, Phil’s nephew.
The Black Men: The black men are the same ones that shot Tony in season two, but only clipped his ear.
The Boy Scouts: Oddly, the Boy Scouts were in the store last week when Bobby got it, so they are going to have some issues. Is this a sick coincidence?
The trucker with the USA Hat: There was a trucker wearing a hat that read, “USA.” It was his brother that was the trucker that Christopher robbed and killed in season two. He had to identify his brother’s body. And the name of this episode was curiously, “Made in America.” Why did David Chase pick that crazy title if not to lead us to conclusion that the trucker with the USA Hat was Tony’s real assassin? It’s all in the credits.
But Tony was, indeed, whacked. As he died everything abruptly and suddenly ended and cut to black. Everyone else’s lives go on. Carmela and AJ must have been screaming seeing Tony be killed. Minnow is just finishing parking and is about to be confronted with her father’s death.

If she was a real human being, Carmela should have taken the advice of that aged psychiatrist she saw many Seasons ago and done what was necessary for her to reconcile and dismiss herself from a life of crime, including living by and from the proceeds from crime as she has.
In the Series, what Carmela "could" have done was go to Italy and find Furio.
In the Series, what Carmela should have done was do what she did: stick with Tony and continue on the family.
How's that for ambiguity as to my opinion?

NY LICENSE PLATE in final scene
1. Is the guy in the members only jacket the same guy that shot silvio?
2. As meadow was parking her car my widescreen showed a NY license plate...Does that mean the guy in the members only jacket is from NY?
3. In like the first 15 minutes of the episode...Phil calls his members in NY...the little guy on the cell phone and some other guy are walking outside, then for some reason the other guy just turns around and walks the other way??? Who did he see or meet?
So what if the guy in the members only jacket was from the NY crew and is the same guy that shot silvio...Silvio's gun shots were in the shoulder and in the kidneys...so that proves the members only jacket guy was a bad shooter...Tony has survived death throughout the entire series, I would only expect him to do the same from the diner scene on.

furio was a great character.....the fact that they wrote in the script that him and carmella had a crush was realisitic.....BUT it also fucked things up. I wanted to see more of him beating peoples asses!
