Melfi has really started to get under my skin. She takes Tony's money, knowing where it comes from, she discusses patients outside of her office, which is unethical, and yet, she acts like she holds some kind of moral high ground! She's the one who reconnected with Tony, after he had stopped seeing her, so I hope there is some kind of comeuppance in store for her as well, because she's as big a hypocrite as Tony ever was, and she deserves whatever price she ends up having to pay for it.

Some thoughts on the epsiode... 1. Like most people, I find AJ really annoying but once you saw him jump in the pool and try to kill himself, I forgot how annoying and irritating I found him. When you see Tony pulling up to the house, I thought 2 things. One, how fitting would it be Tony just kills his nephew/successor only to come home and find his only son dead in the pool. But my second thought was more humane...I was silently kinda rooting for Tony to go outside and save him. I think that's what makes The Sopranos such an amazing show though. Last week we were all hating Tony Soprano for being such a cold, heartless bastard. Yet when we see his son drowning, it's like everyone forgot he's a cold blooded sociopath and all of a sudden we see an alarmed Tony jump into the pool and do what I'm sure all of us would have done had our kid been in that situation. Then later in the show, we find ourselves rooting for Tony to finish that NY idiot Coco off. Just brilliant how Chase shows all the sides to these characters...One second you hate them, the next second you're holding back tears hoping they don't die. 2. I think Bobby dies next week. There's a shot of Janice in the previews which looks like she's terrified, although I can't tell if it's her house or Tony's house she's outside. Phil is looking to retaliate in a big way and is ready to flex his muscle. I think Patsy might get the hook as well. 3. That one shot of Tony's car in the previews really makes me wonder. I've read a few people predict Meadow will be in his car when some NY guys take it down thinking it's Tony. While I agree this is very possible and would essentially be the biggest death in all 7 years of the series, in the back of my mind I think it's too predictable. I can't ever remember being able to correctly predict something big like that happening. Chase is too good...so while something like that would be HUGE, I admit I think I'd be slightly disappointed that I already knew what was coming. Although, I still think the mistaken identity hint in the description for 'Blue Comet' could mean we see Kevin Finnerty again...which would have to mean something happens to Tony.

Not at all.......I myself am part of the first group - I think the play on the underlying issues and emotions and symbolism is unparalleled. Tony Sopranos head is a scary place to be. There are alot of people in the second group since the beauty of the show is that it can also stand alone on its merits there too. I feel tho that the second group is missing out a bit tho by not seeing how those so called "side" stories infulence the others. This week for example there were loads of psychological parallels between AJ and TOny - almost too many to mention....then because of the issues there and with Meadow being insulted, he brutally retaliates against one of Phil's captains, further deteriorating the NJ/NY realtionship. It was a very dark episode again in my opinion........but before we get into that - one moment of levity that had me rollin: "Perhaps he subconsiously knew the rope was too long to keep him submerged" "Yeah and perhaps he's a fucking idiot which historically has been the case"
