Songs of the '90s and '00s

Well, you guys have threads devoted to music of the '60s, '70s and '80s, so.....Here's one devoted to the music of the '90s and '00s, combined.

I'll start with:

Emmylou Harris & Spyboy -- "Deeper Well"

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YO7G1onDJuk

This was from her '95 Daniel Lanois-produced album, Wrecking Ball, and represented a pretty significant shift in her musical direction.....

Ever since then, she has pursued this kind of sound on her albums -- a more atmospheric, almost Southern-Gothic type of sound, compared to the rootsier country-folk-rock she had always done up until then.

This song is a bit edgier than most of her '90s and '00s music, though, at least in terms of the serrated guitar sound.....

Most of these threads are ridiculous and don't belong on the Sopranos forum

I'm cool, i'm cool. I just think that there should be a limit to the amount of music threads on a board.
It makes it look like a big pop factory instead of a sopranos board. I think wex should actually think before he makes another dozen threads.

Other than that, consider me litB-)

Oh, lighten up
:)

Plenty of great music in the 90's and 00's, even if it is mostly revivals and better covers of contemporary hacks by real talent. Was that harsh?
Case in Point:

John Prine, "Lake Marie"

1995 or so

Great story song, vivid imagery, a bit surreal....

I think it was, and he kept screwing up, going out with the guys, whatever. Such a boob!

I feel bad for Meg. She's really not that bad, and the whole family disrespects her. She's probably smart enough to move out and move on. Chris may not be. He's morally better, but he's really dumb, so his future is not good.

Well, there was that episode where Loises dad, Mr Peuterschmidt, tried to give Peter a check for a million dollars not to date his daughter. Peter tore up the check as Lois was walking in. I think that won her over.

You're right Clevenland is the other "good" one. Peter is a moron in every show! Why the hell Lois would have gone for him (yes I know it's a cartoon) is beyond me.
