I rarely write in about shows that I love because I'm too busy watching them over and over and over. I really only write if I have a complaint. I assume that the cable box gives back info about what is being watched. so that you know who is out here LOVING your efforts. I LOVE THIS SHOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!

they only made 8 episodes in 2007 here in Australia and they didnt make a new series in 2008. Im not sure if they will be making a second series in 2009, but watch www.abc.net.au to see if they will be adding more episodes in the future. It did fairly poor ratings here when they first ran it because it was on our ABC (like your version of PBS) but then they re-ran it and got high ratings.

Love and adore this show. I do not like Little Britain or Life of Tim at all, but for some reason fell in love with Summer Heights immediately, it is fabulous. I could watch it every day, I really could. I think that anyone who appreciates "The Office" humor will appreciate this show. Am worried because given the ending, I don't see how it's going to return for another season? Summer Heights definitely has my vote and I am eager for more.

I just finished watching all the episodes on demand and I love this show! I think this is a well acted show and I think Chris Lilley performance was amazing. I stumbled on this show by mistake and I am surprise that HBO has promoted the show so that more people are aware of it. Please bring back more episodes!

My husband and I love this show. I am a principal and a former remedial reading teacher and the setting (even though it's in Australia) rings true in the U.S. Chris Lilley brilliantly captures school from three different angles. Every school has the alpha female Ja'mie, the megalomaniacal Mr. G type, and the troubled school boy like Jonah who creates fun because learning isn't fun for him. For viewers new to the show, the humor may seem off-putting but satire often does that. The viewer is not meant to laugh at the same things Mr. G and Ja'mie are laughing at but at the characters of Mr. G and Ja'mie. These characters, while funny, have a dark side that the viewer is allowed to see. The viewer is meant to see the dissonance between what they say and the egregiousness of their actions. Even though Chris Lilley's purpose is comedy, his insight to human behavior makes a point. For me, the heart of the show is Jonah. Jonah is the most tragic character I have seen in a long time probably because I know so many kids like him. Jonah's story is embedded in a comedy, and he is brutal and profane when we first meet him. However, Jonah is far more complex and is portrayed more sympathetically than the other characters. He has the funniest lines ("You said put my balls on the floor, Miss") and some of the saddest ("He made fun of me not being able to read, Miss"). Unlike the other two, on the outside he is gruff and profane. On the inside, Jonah, as created and played by Chris Lilley, brilliantly and subtly shows the hurt and confusion underlying his actions. It broke my heart to see his face after Miss Wheatley caught him throwing the shoe on the roof while he vainly tried to explain what happened. With every episode, Jonah gets under my skin a little bit more. His downward journey is in sharp contrast from the other two. I have to remind myself that Jonah isn't real. Three characters, three different stories, and one actor make this a show that I don't want to miss. Thank goodness for ON DEMAND. After two episodes, I was hooked on this show and am so sad that only two more episodes will air. Chris Lilley has created a wonderful show full of fun, camp, and pathos. It is good television and should be replayed again. HBO, well done in bringing this series to your viewers. Thank you.

Ok... the show owes a lot to Christopher Guest's mockumentary style (the parallels to Guffman are especially thick in the Mr. G story thread) but it nonetheless is a pretty funny show (and quite an achievement for Chris Lilley - writing, starring, even writing the music) in my opinion. For me, the 'self-absorbed, delusional character inside a documentary' thing is a deep well of comedy. While it may not be filled with gut laughs, it is a compelling watch somehow. Nice job Mr. Lilley and HBO. Not the best show ever on HBO, but still better than almost anything on regular TV.

Primus you're insane. the life and times of tim sucks. THIS SHOW IS HILARIOUS! i mean 8==D TATION is the funniest thing ever Jonah is a crack up with everything he says. Ja'mie is sooo good. the way lilley can make himself a 16 year old girl is absolutely hilarious. and Mr. G... my god do i know people like him! the first ep was iffy for me, but as you get to know the characters it is so freakin funny. i just bought from australia this whole series, plus the series that started summer heights called we can be hero's. THANK YOU HBO for SUMMER HEIGHTS HIGH!
