A psychoanalyst in his 50s, Paul has divorced his wife Kate and moved to Brooklyn for a fresh start. Practicing out of a home office in a Brooklyn brownstone, Paul commutes back to Maryland on the weekends to spend time with his two sons and daughter (when they have time to see him) and to see his therapist Gina. Facing a law suit filed by the father of one of his patients (Alex) who died in a questionable plane crash and dealing with his failed marriage and ailing father, Paul struggles more than usual with boundaries between his personal and professional life. What would you like to see happen for Paul in Season 2?

They just posted a link to Verne G.'s Newsday blog on the "News" section of the In Treatment website, too! HBO, you have been listening!

Anyone notice that they changed the quotes on the cover to the "talk" section of the In Treatment site? Does this bode well for continuing the series? LET'S HOPE SO!!

I think I find something new each time I rewatch it. Little things I missed the first time. Am I the only one who does this? -- __________________________ Jaydes HBO Forums Host

Listened to an interview Mr. Byrne did on a New York radio station last year just before the last week of Season 1. Made me wonder why he didn't do interviews before the last week of this season.

I just recently became hooked, I would be so disappointed if it didn't continue! Add me to those that want it to stay!

Is this really the last of In Treatment? I felt it was after the last episode - especially with him releasing Gina, two patients left and two want to continue. I get the feeling it is over. Two seasons is not enough - although I did read somewhere how much of a toll it took on Gabriel Byrne to do the show. But, now I feel as if I need a therapist to get over my separation anxiety

I love the show, I think I would be the type of therapist Paul; is, personally emotional about my patients, please do not make Paul fall in love with his patients more, it ruins the show!!! He can GO TO AN INTELLECTUAL LEVEL NO OTHER SHOW CAN TAKE US, THIS MAY BECOME BORING FOR OTHERS BUT i ADORE THIS SHOW AND HAVE BEEN FAITHFULLY FOLLOWING EACH WEEK. this IS THE FIRST SEASON i HOPE!! best SHOW ON NOW, Karen

UCLA Conference on In Treatment + Podcasts
Apr 22, 2009 7:33 AM
|
If anyone is interested - UCLA's Israel Studies Program held a one day conference on In Treatment's new season and its Israeli counterpart. All American creators, including Rodrigo Garcia, and Blair Underwood, participated. One of the moderators was the Executive Director of the UCLA School of Law Entertainment and Media Law and Policy Program. (This is for all the posters on the legal aspects of the series.) They have just released podcasts from two of the sessions of the conference. Hope more will be added. Maybe some requests from the series' devotees will help. I wrote them an email question regarding availability of material from the program and received a very nice, prompt response telling me about the pending podcasts. Below is the address of the conference program and podcasts. Maybe I should post this on some other forums... http://www.international.ucla.edu/israel/podcasts/be-tipul/index.asp

Yes Jtompert..I heartily agree I have to own this...I must review character issues and I miss sophie so much. Not to mention the overall review of everything that went on with Alex is paramount. I am so moved by the composure of Dr Weston in both episodes last night. This is a marvel to witness. he may reveal a disturbing underbelly with Gina but on his own with clients i admire the character. Too bad we do not hear his confident inner voice when reviewing his skills as a therapist. He is a good one. -- You get what you concentrate on...there is no other rule

Is he starting note taking now because Mia suggested it or because it dawned on him that he can't remember everything and surely doesn't want another lawsuit? No good professional should assume they can put everything to memory. Does he remember all of the sessions he had with Mia twenty years ago from memory? If he had written down notes or audio taped them and saved them they could help him deal with Mia now. Yes, we should see him taking down notes more. Even Gina had a notepad.

Forty-eight - just a recommendation, but you need to go out and BUY Season 1 of "IT." Actually, at one time, Amazon.com had it on sale, so you might want to try some on-site sources first. It's something that you'll want to watch OVER and OVER.

Regarding notes...I am sure you have all noticed..in all this weeks episodes there has been obvious clear fussing with notes, writing pads, papers, jottings down etc. Yes paul..It is probably time to get on the 'note wagon'. To that end i am really leaning toward renting last seasons episodes..particularly with gina. Must review the whole Gina story. -- You get what you concentrate on...there is no other rule
