Gina and Paul's Relationship

We know Gina had feeling for a patient of hers and that it ended. Do you think that Gina has feelings for Paul? Do you think that if Gina and Paul were to get together would that be crossing the line?

How do you feel about the way the season ended with Paul and Gina? Did their sessions come to the conclusion you were expecting?

Hi, all:

If I interrupted a discussion, I apologize, but I understand this is the only way I can make others on the IT forum aware of the new Quo Vadis thread on member created threads. The objective of this thread is to allow visitors to discuss problems of patients and methods for treating these problems for Paul to treat and use, respectively, on the second series of IT which hopefully will be shown.

For example:

Should Paul's new patients include a celebrity and a reformer, e.g., an attorney who defends the little guys on the bottom rung of society?

Should the forum offer criticism of IT, Paul and GB as well as praise?

What treatment regime would Paul use for a suicidal patient who is the head of a prostitution ring and resembles The D,C. Madam?

Which treatment regime should Paul use for Multiple Personality Disorder (MPD)?

See you on the thread.

Thanks.

Yikes! I can't even imagine Paul and Gina together, although, they do sometimes act like an old, married couple.

I think other people have mentioned it - Paul respects Gina, but is still fighting her as an authority figure. I don't think he can get past that thinking with her - she'll always play his 'supervisor' in one way or another.

Paul has work-related "burnout" which is common in many psychoanalysts.
Paul should have previously told Kate about his ?burnout? instead of alienating her and their children. Kate should have detected this issue and aggressively pursued it with Paul instead of having an affair and risking divorce.

Psychoanalysts and patients may find listening to the music of their ethnic cultures stimulating and relaxing, as I have. These are available on CD, DVD and online.
My parents band I were born in USA, and my grand my grandparents who immigrated to USA in early 1900?s had these cultural origins:

Maternal:
Grandmother: Ukrainian, Albanian (mix of Greek, Italian, Slavic, Turkish)
Grandfather: Kazakh (mix of Mongol, Turkish)

Paternal:
Grandmother: Austria, Germany)
Grandfather: (Austria, Poland)

Good topic! It is an interesting dynamic these two have, yes? I think Paul does respect Gina as a therapist---maybe a little threatened by her! I get the feeling she thinks he is a good therapist....one worth continuing to "teach", by her example, even years after he has his own sucessful practice!

I think Paul came back for some "therapy" with Gina because he did trust her & respect her...but he continues to feel a bit threatened by her. But when it "starts hitting the fan" for him at home and he starts questioning his own ability, he needs her reassurance and truthful answers---even though they hurt his ego !!!!

Gina knows who she is---and is at peace with that, I believe.

Paul is very confrontational with Gina and it is not "kindness-driven" - there's anger behind it.
Gina IS direct with Paul - because maybe she MUST be in order to get his attention!:-D
Seems like there IS kindness behind her interactions with Paul.

IMO, there is a professional friendship - I don't think Gina would socialize with Paul.. After all, he called her after all those years..

Paul's been steeping in his bitterness so long that it's almost stale.
Gina IS in her own world and she likes it there...

I'd say it's worth a dollar!;)

I seriously don't think Gina had those type of feelings for Paul...after all it had been years since they saw each other and I don't think she likes his way of "attacking" her every time he brings something up and she questions him.

I think in a long run, there is still that friendship- even if I can feel the tention between them...not romantically but maybe more so of the resentment to whatever happened with Gina and Charlie/David....and at the institute.

I don't see the two having an intimate relationship. He's to bitter and she's in her own world.

ok..that is just my 2cents!

Well Paul is married and hes a patient of hers, but besides that she was also his mentor of sorts years earlier. I view her more of a friend or even a big sister type who is cares about him but not romantically. Since Paul had to take care of his mom it seems liek he gets a mother-figure in Gina. I think Paul cares about her in a protective family/friend way.

Yikes. I don't want to imagine that. She fills a teacher's role and I think it would be wrong on that level. Also, he is a patient and I don't think she would violate that relationship.
