HBO problems with apostrophes and quote-marks

Until recently, I had assumed that the problems just mentioned --- HBO's html loading software transforming all apostrophes and quote-marks into question marks --- was unique to my use of Word for banging out at bursting speed my posts. Wrong! Wrong! Wrong!

Now that lots of posters are using quote-marks for dialogue in their short stories, their posts are marred this way too.

So --- HBO technical managers for this site: would you kindly find a way to fix this technical problem. It should be easy to do so. Just needs 10 minutes of revising your HTML software.

Otherwise, your forums and threads and the ways they are managed are impressive in all respects.

Cordially,

There is a change, nothing else, in the way apostrophes and question-marks show up. That change is for the better --- it replaces those punctuation marks with a slash |- . . . which is at least less intrusive than the ????? Still, I'm sure your software writers (no doubt the web manager and his or her assistants) can do better.

.................

The loading software has to be HTML (or XHTML), the only mark-up language the web recognizes . . . this, no matter how the rest of the site is written up, say in PhP. And since HTML is not a difficult computer language to work with, a good expert should be able to pin down the mis-transformation of the punctuation marks in just a few minutes and make the necessary revisions, no?

And though it may no longer matter --- there seem to be only a dozen or two people still coming onto these forums --- it makes reading the stories and dialogue hard to follow.
............

Otherwise, to repeat, what I've said before, this is an exemplary site, and you can be happy with the way you've managed it from the start.

They can pass this along but not our questions about another season? Please.

And Gordo, this the same group of people who have Gabriel's name - on the yet unreleased dvd - listed as Paul Byrne. They should all be MENSA candidates.

Hey all!

Just wanted to let you know I'd pass this along. I actually thought I was typing too fast or something as well!

I second this request. All my threads look as if I am a crazy woman asking questions after and in between all my sentences.

My original excalamation that started many mojo conversations

Gabriel Byrne...Gabriel Byrne...Gabriel Bryne...What in the world have you done to me?

now looks like:

Gabriel Byrne? Gabriel Byrne? Gabriel Bryne? What in the world have you done to me?

Which is not the way its meant to look at all!
