I am entranced by everyone's experience in NYC meeting GB! What inspiring and exciting stories! Kudos to everyone for their courage, persistence, and amazing luck. A small note for the future: in a recent interview, it is mentioned that his next project will be Iris Murdoch's The Sea. The original novel is entitled The Sea, The Sea (I think), so go out and read it now! It is a great book and GB will be wonderful in it, no doubt. Interview is here: http://www.independent.ie/entertainment/film-cinema/its-good-to-be-the-king-in-an-allsinging-revue-1372315.html I don't know how this impacts his taking on a second season of In Treatment, but I will take my Gabriel Byrne any way I can get him!

This story sounds facinating, maybe I missed it, but does anyone know is this movie, The Sea, going to be considered an Indie film ?? Thus limited release and then quick exit ?

Yes, yes, I just read it in an interviw. He starts shooting the Sea soon..... Inside Flap Copy The sea: turbulent and leaden, transparent and opaque, magician and mother... When Charles Arrowby, over sixty, a demi god of the theatre -- director, playwright and actor -- retires from his glittering London world in order to 'abjure magic and become a hermit', it is to the sea that he turns. He hopes at least to escape from 'the woman' -- but unexpectedly meets one whom he loved long ago. His buddhist cousin, James, also arrives. he is menaced by a monster from the deep. Charles finds his 'solitude' peopled by the drama of his own fantasies and obsessions. Sounds like he'll be chewing up the scenery in this one At one point in the book, Charles' madness is hard to take, as we are drawn in to experience it. In other words, since Charles has chosen a craggy environment in his quest for peace, peace is hard to come by. Charles undergoes an epiphany -- in fact, more than one. -- Edited by rubyjtcat at 05/12/2008 6:03 AM PDT

> Tim will tell which one is an actual project and > which one will eventually get the green light. Well, tell Tim we want to know and we want to know NOW! Seriously, I have seen those projects mentioned too, but this one was noted in an article just posted yesterday (I think), so perhaps this is a more recent and certain development... But, as you say, only Tim will tell.

I've read Mr. Byrne is working on a script based on Jennifer Johnston's book titled Two Moons. He's also been associated with Brandon Gleeson's project to adapt At-Swim-Two-Birds, the Flann O'Brien novel, for the big screen, as an actor this time. Tim will tell which one is an actual project and which one will eventually get the green light.

What a great article, thank you for sharing! And if The Sea is not even in production yet, then that could explain why IMDB has not picked up on it yet. Give it time. -- Sky HBO Forums Host

I posted this just so we would know that there is something out there with our favorite actor starring in it! I hope for IT2 most of all, but as I say, whether I am in treatment or on the sea, so long as Mr. Byrne is there, I will be an ecstatic fan.

Sounds like a wonderful roll for him! I do think tho that commitments to make movies are often verbal, and way out in the future because so many people are involved, and all the financing seldom secured. So it may be something that he is undertaking next year.... I am making this up as I go because I am so praying for the possibility of a second season of IT that I am trying to clear his schedule!! Jeez...

> The Sea isn't listed on IMDb. Would it be > another name for King of the Pipers? I don't think so. This was the first I had heard of this project. Considering the source, it feels real. Who knows? Perhaps having all the IT girls show up at the stage door to meet him will make him pick a 2nd season of In Treatment over this film. BUT if he makes The Sea, it will be a knock-out. He is perfect for the role and it is one of Murdoch's best novels. IMDB is an indispensable resource, but it is not always up-to-date and it is not always accurate. Time will tell. So long as he appears in one of these two fabulous roles, I will be a happy, starry-eyed, and satisfied fan.

The Sea isn't listed on IMDb. Would it be another name for King of the Pipers?
