With all the creative talent and intellectual capacity on these threads, wouldn't it be fun to get YOUR ideas for casting choices? Who would you cast? Which roles and for what reason? Alright, IT fans & viewers, let the casting games begin!! I'll kick this off by throwing out Helen Mirren as Paul's therapist if Diane Wiest doesn't return. Ms. Mirren has excellent chemistry with Gabriel Byrne, is an acting powerhouse in her own right, would give Gabriel a magnificent foil against which to act, and at the age of 62, this Sistah is still sizzling...I mean it's unreal...my re-SPECT!!

You're right. I think it's more interesting to have unknowns on the series, unless they're such great actors as GB who can play anyone to perfection. Due to a sleepless night, my mind worked in Gabeland, again... And it hit me...I am unknown, both in USA and in Norway!!! And I think its about time a foreigner can play a role in IT3. This is what I think: I have recently moved into the apartment next to Paul Weston, but have yet to meet him. And then I`ll be the victim of a burglary. This scares the h... out of me, and I develop anxiety attacks and a deep depression! You with me so far? One day I have to go outside for some shopping, but when I reach the frontdoor, I`ll panic...and Paul Weston see me in this state, and brings me to his apartment for some..... Well, he helps me with my problems, and I help him with... no dirty thoughts here ladies I meant I would help him with keeping his home clean and tidy..... And no one knows what can happen next, right Ok...this sounded much better in my head, I think I will keep it there.... -- Edited by Diba at 11/08/2009 12:38 PM PST

Give me a shot. Like I said earlier, I have absolutely no acting experience, BUT, I'm sure Gabe could give me some private lessons. I learn quick. COME ON!! IT COULD WORK!!!

What if, while connecting with his oldest son, Ian, Paul takes him on a college graduation trip to some beachy spot, tropical or otherwise (say, the Hamptons?) where Paul meets and dates the mother of Ian's girlfriend? Ooh, ooh, wouldn't that set us up for some juicy stuff to explore? That has all the makings of something really good or something horrifically disastrous, yet good for us viewers to watch play out in Paul's life. As a bonus, and in a twist, Ian has to coach Paul through navigating the dating waters....hahahhahahhaaaaaa! Let's see, Ian's girlfriend could be Dakota Fanning, Raven-Symone, Saorse Ronan, Madeline Zima or Mena Suvari for starters.

You're right. I think it's more interesting to have unknowns on the series, unless they're such great actors as GB who can play anyone to perfection. Also, I watched the episode with Ian and Rosie from Season 1 a couple of days ago. Both actors were great. I'd sure like Paul to have some more scenes with them in Season 3. Maybe one of them could be getting married or graduating from college? Then he'd reunite with Kate and Max, too. Maybe Kate could be getting married and he's invited to the wedding? Remember much of his discussions with Gina in Season 2 involved Paul's grappling with his father's death, and concluding that nothing else matters in life except to stay connected with loved ones? Or something like that. So I think he needs to be reconnected with them in Season 3.

I get sick of seeing the same faces in TV shows and on movies. I would rather see an unknown actor or actress than a big name.

Definite win-win...definite reason to go to NYC and just do a Broadway show crawl...complete marathon of feasting on Broadway shows.

Yes, I think that has distinct possiblities LL, and for romance as well. Paul interested in an aging but still sexy older woman....me likey! Did you know that Alison Pill will play Annie Sullivan to Abigail Breslins Helen Keller on Broadway soon. Sounds like a win win. -- Edited by iamyuneek at 11/05/2009 5:26 PM PST

Anybody in the mood for seeing Paul having to treat a fictional famous actress or talk show hostess who is having issues about aging, so continues to get into disastrous romantic relationships? He'd be the anti-Dr. Phil, but he'd still need to juggle the elements of her world a bit. Let's see....how about this character being played by Susan Sarandon? Joan Allen? Ooh, ooh, DEBRA WINGER? By the way, I saw Alison Pill in MILK on cable the other night...she was FANTASTIC!!

Perhaps Rosie, being a teenage girl, will develop so many problems living with Kate and her new guy that she (Rosie) has to come live with Paul in Brooklyn.

I had hair like that, too. I remember that song!! I would love to hear the updates like they did with Sophie too. I would love to see him more with his kids. I want to know how his kids feel about their dad.

Okay, this scenario has been playing around in my head for awhile...(I know, I know, no life, hahahaha) SO, this woman, could be middle aged, or younger, doesn't really matter......she has a major break through, but it's really near the end of her session. Crying, pitching a fit, the whole nine yards. Hysterical, on the floor, unable to pull herself together. NOW, that being said, the other sessions we have seen her she has been anything but hysterical. VERY put together, but something has caused this breakdown. In the waiting room, next patient waits. Now, this patient is a complete asshole, and it can be either male or female, but I kinda like the male angle. He begins to pound on the door, demanding his time with Paul. Paul tries to explain that it may be a few more minutes, being diplomatic, but is clearly annoyed at waiting room guy. She freaks out more, attacks guy in waiting room, and storms out. LATER, she calls Paul in a drunken haze, muttering and mumbling, unable to tell Paul where she is, or anything coherently. Phone line goes dead. The End...... I do a lot of driving.......can you tell what I think about??? hahahaha

It's an absolute joy to watch Gabriel Byrne/Paul Weston interact with kids and teenagers. I totally agree with you about this. Wouldn't it be great to see Paul with his OWN kids a bit more in season three? We caught a few glimpses in season two, and of course, he talked about them in his sessions with Gina, but there are so much more depths to plumb in that area of his family life. I'm still over the moon with how they brought Sophie back into the mix in season two with the website mention. I'd love to see a similar kind of update with Oliver in season three...just so we know that he turned out OK or triumphed somehow over his tough odds. I thought the poignancy in having April be the messenger for Sophie's update was waaaaaaaay cool...gets me choked up every time.
