Help me understand this please!
I am a professional single female with a post graduate degree and a healthy income. I have friends and family and normal interests. I enjoy television, plays, and literature but am not consumed with the characters within them. I have admired the physical beauty of many male celebrities but never to the extent that they occupy my thoughts while I work, while I eat, while I visit friends and while I sleep. But all of that has changed now...
Gabriel Byrne?.Gabriel Byrne? Gabriel Byrne?.What in the world have you done to me?
I can only surmise that the producers of the show have developed some sort of secret pheromone hypnosis beam that they shoot right out of his eyes, through my television screen into my living room. How else can it be explained? Gabriel Byrne is handsome, of course, he has always been so. But, I could list 20 men that are younger, with bigger biceps, less wrinkles, more chiseled jaws etc. and NONE of them can make my heart stop beating just by the way they whisper the word ?IF?. (See Laura week 8). When I am watching the show, which is pretty much whenever I am at home, I often stop breathing when he speaks. I don?t mean to, but my breath just stops. I replay episodes over and over again, I can recite Laura Week 6 word for word, ?I?m really glad that you called?, ?Losing you is a big deal?, ?It's because when I wash the dishes the soap gets under my ring and? ???.long agonizing pause,??.irritates the skin?.
My obsession is full tilt at this point. I surf the net every day to find out what show he might appear on this week. I am renting and buying his movies as fast as I can get them, I would buy his book or his audiobook but I am afraid that reading or, god help me, hearing him describe his inner most thoughts, childhood memories and experiences in that melodic, soft, lilting voice would just put me completely round the bend. I am dreading the end of the series next week but hoping I can snap out of this trance once it?s over.
Anyway, I?m interested to know exactly what?s he got that other men don?t have? It's some very powerful mojo whatever it is. Obviously most of it is Byrne himself. His face is not only beautiful but its kind, its compassionate, his intelligence shines out of his eyes and he is a brilliant actor. But I think part of it is Paul Westin too. This character is what women all over the world secretly want and never get; a kind, verbal, soft spoken, strong, caring, listening, beautiful man with a eyes that can see right into your soul, a vulnerability that breaks your heart and expressive hands that could?.brush your hair back over your ears?or etc etc etc.
What a man, what a man, what a man, what a might GOOD man.

this is a very interesting discussion ladies, and something i haven't given much thought to before tonight. As totally crazed and obsessed as I am about Mad Handsome, I've NEVER dreamed about him. ?????? (In my sleep, that is. I've dreamed about him in broad daylight, wide awake, running through a redlight in my car... but never in my sleep!)
isn't that odd? wonder what that means? Maybe I need a session with Paul?

I haven't had any dreams about GB yet. Instead, I started dreaming about my own therapist again. Damn! Maybe if I watched A Dangerous Video every night before I went to sleep...

Haha, my first GB dream (which I had months ago) had him as my WAITER at some Chinese restaurant on some Mexican cruise.

MY GOD..........that is hilarious..........dreams are so messed up.................one I had of him.....
He's sitting at a picnic table, facing away from me........I'm walking up behind him and I put my arms around him, as I would do to my husband.......and we were very comfortable with each other..........I kissed the back of his head, and then.........here's the clincher.........Gwyneth Paltrow walks by, and he says.......are you ready???
"There she is, gotta go.........." and he gets up and takes her hand and leaves.........that's it....the end.......bah........
This dream happened a while ago.........but I thought I'd share now........
Hey, Touched........I got to kiss the back of his head!!! You just threw him in the tub!!! Wahahahahahaha.........tee hee.......

I had my first official Gabriel Byrne dream.
Now I am sure many of you women have had lots but not me. It seems that I dream about him all day in my waking hours and therefore, I have never dreamed about him in my sleep.
But I did last night. I dont remember many details but I do remember this.
He spent the night at my house.
And...
I made him sleep in the bathtub.
fucking dumb ass dream.

Treat yourself to the entire interview...it's on YouTube in six parts. I think you have to put "Inside the Actor's Studio - Gabriel Byrne" in the search field. Gosh, I'm SUCH an enabler...you think he's adorable in that bit? Wait till he answers the questionnaire when James Lipton asks him his favorite curse word. I won't spoil it for you...just adorable.

He's an international film star...he gets up there to Canada from time-to-time with film festivals and shooting locations. Believe, Jen, believe, but even if you don't, I do, and that's enough for us both. One never knows where life will take them, but remember this date (8/23/08) because I declare this day, Jen, that you will meet Gabriel Byrne one day. I just watched the Inside Actors Studio with GB....the part where he is talking about Gerard Depardieu and John Malkovitch.........my God.........so funny........
His laugh, it kills me.......honestly..........slays me dead........it makes me laugh just listening to him laugh........and I find my face hurting after watching him........from the constant smile on my face........dear Lord........that smile and laugh..........arghhhhhhh....

I totally agree with you and I totally believe with you that the Ladies of these threads have a date with destiny concerning Mad Handsome...I share it with some of them from time-to-time because I believe that one sows what one reaps...these Ladies sow a lotta love and heart and passion into all things Gabe, so I'm just crazy enough to believe they'll reap something mind-blowing and incredible.
Psst - Searching...(whispering) just between you and me, I feel that the run-up to season two of IT could be ripe with possibilities, but let's not get the Ladies worked up just yet. You keep believing...I'll keep praying (smile).
