Okay, so I stole this from a thread over on the 'Rome' boards. You know you've been watching too much 'In Treatment' when..... You start answering every question with a question You tell your husband that you're all flooshed and hot and wet and hawny (and you pronounce it just like that) You record your fights with your spouse You do in-depth background checks on all your doctors and then throw in their face what you've learned You become obsessed with the barking dogs in your neighborhood -- --- --- The greatest trick the Devil ever pulled was convincing the world he didn't exist. Come chat at the Savage Cunny Bar & Grille [ subject matter ceased to be about 'Rome' long ago ] Thurs 10:30pm EST; Sat 10:30pm EST; Sun 3pm EST Click Here -- Edited by cherylp at 03/04/2008 3:04 PM

Because of her age we didn't want to put her through that unless we had to. We'd also heard the same thing you mention. Katarina then developed an infection (one eye wouldn't open) so it had to be done and afterwards she was so much better that we realized she must have been in more discomfort and for longer than we realized. Because of her age, we didn't know what symptoms were just the aging process. It's hard to know when to wait and when to go forward. We also had a lot of faith in our Vet who knew her since kittenhood and that helped. How devastating for your friend. If/when your cat needs the procedure, good luck and hope it goes well. Obviously don't go just by this experience.

NIGHTWIND - you would be VERY welcome in our large air-conditioned/heated doghouse but there is no more room in the bed...LOL Sometimes there isn't any room for ME to get in the bed!! > > "When you pretend your cats are Jake & Amy and spout > off a list of the do's & don'ts in choosing divorce > lawyers." Isn't that the truth! An ex once proclaimed he was going to get my dogs in settlement - I said over someone's dead body, and I didn't mean mine!!!

I have two, 12 and 11, and the 12 yr old has the beginnings of gum disease, according to the vet, who said I should bring her in and get her teeth cleaned Then a friend told me that two of her cats died of heart attacks while under anesthetic while getting their teeth cleaned -- in the same year. Which obviously freaked me out. So now I don't know what to do.....let it go, or take her in and run the risk of her having heart failure while under the anesthetic..... Any vets on the forum? Wow, that must be difficult with all those shots. I heard there's animal medical insurance but don't know much about it - including whether or not they'd take a pre-existing condition... Our pills aren't too bad, but we have to take her to the Vet often for weigh-in and blood work. She's 17.

Um, have a confession. I was a bad cat mother last night. I waited until after the 7:30 showing to give the scrawny old man his thyroid pill and feed them both. I don't think they were very happy with me. I wouldn't be surprised to come home to hairball city tonight. > Yes! We give our cat her hyperthyroid pill before the > first one or after the second one!

You start to wonder if the person next to you in the check-out line is the same one you've been "disagreeing" with on the IT threads The person next to you in the check-out line suspects you are the one that's been disagreeing with them on the IT threads The checker in the line is sure you are one of the "nuts" on the IT threads and calls store security
