"Why did I feel like that?" I liked the metophor - "a storm in your brain!" EXACTLY. Or as Emily Dickinson said.....there is a funeral in my brain. I always loved that line.

I just watched this again, this man takes my breath away ,he is just so lovely ,how any woman could not like this man is beyond me ,ok ,so ,hes not everybodys type ,but there are many qualities to Gabriel Byrne ,that i would require in a guy ,just a couple of them would suffice ,if any of you have friends who ever say "oh he aint my cup of tea" or "who is Gabriel Byrne?" or "well hes ok i suppose" MAKE THEM WATCH THIS ...then ask them again ,....as for me ,i just fell in love with the man all over again....

ALRIGHT!!! Ali and Windhover, I'm so glad that tip was of help to you and any others who were able to download the video. We're all here on this forum because of the incomparable Mr. Gabriel Byrne. Besides, Windhover hooked us up to see this documentary that so many of us were hungry to see....YEAH!!! I would hate to think that you couldn't download after sharing so generously with the rest of us. Thanks for the update....enjoy!!!

Here's a review of the documentary from a person who wasn't so crazy about it. I do have to agree that I too would have liked to see a little bit more footage of him making some of his movies. (I loved the bit with Kevin Spacey). But he has talked over and over again in interviews about people he has worked with. Maybe this person should watch some of the old Charlie Rose interviews. And I thought this documentary was suppose to be about the man...not a travelogue of his movies. Yes there were some gray moments, but I thought they were deeply profound and revealed the man for who he is. http://www.herald.ie/entertainment/tv-radio/gabriel-gets-too-close-for-comfort-1573047.html

Once again, LL, you saved the day. My (and I suspect others') problem was that I was running RealPlayer 10.5. The Downloading and Recording feature was introduced in Version 11. RealPlayer 11 can be installed from www.realplayer.com as a freebie (you don't need the "Plus" option). Within the Help page referenced by LL's note there are two very useful subpages: "Download Videos from the Web" http://i.realone.com/product/help/rp11/en/R1P.htm >Where Would You Like To Start? "Help: Preferences: Download and Recording" http://i.realone.com/product/help/rp11/en/Content/Pref_Web_Download-Record.htm Be sure to check the "Enable browser download button" on the setup page, so the "Download this video" button will be displayed (as described). The file is 312MB and takes several minutes to download, but you can see the movie online at the same time. A bonus with RealPlayer is that the screen is sizeable. (Finally, right-click on the downloaded file to open Properties and set the "Opens with:" application to RealPlayer.) End of tech talk. It's been an incredible 24 hours!

For those having trouble downloading, LL is right. The video was automatically loading on Adobe Flashplayer for me and not giving the option of downloading. After doing some troubleshooting and reading I found that RealPlayer was the way to go. Install it and make it your default player. Then when you get back on line it will pick up the video and then give you the option to download. You can do it on Internet Explorer or Firefox. I have both and I tested it on both. -- Edited by alithecat at 12/12/2008 7:50 PM PST -- Edited by alithecat at 12/12/2008 7:51 PM PST

Windhover, I hope this helps....I have realplayer already installed on my system. When I click the link to TV3 to view the video, the download portal pops up automatically on its own. I downloaded it to realplayer and have already watched it on realplayer. Realplayer will allow you to put it into a library as well for future viewing. Perhaps you might try installing realplayer onto your system and then see what happens when you go back to the TV3 website.

Like others, I cannot download the video. I get the Email/Link/Bookmarks header bar but no "download" button/menu appears. I am running Internet Explorer 7 on Windows XP. To those who downloaded successfully: what was the file type (extension) of the download file? When you opened the saved file, what application did you use?

About to sign off here at work (and for the evening), but HAD to watch this before I left . . . All I can say is - what an incredible human being Gabriel Byrne is. He still takes my breath away - because he's just so NORMAL. No entourage, no airs - if anything he needs to be MORE positive, but of course that's a MAJOR problem with depression (speaking from experience here, okay?). He explained it PERFECTLY - darkness for days or weeks or even months, then you come out of it and think, "Why did I feel like that?" I liked the metophor - "a storm in your brain!" EXACTLY. He's just really incredible - I've got to get my thoughts together here. Didn't know it would affect me the way it did. Amazing!

Thanks LadyLeslie and Karen for your instructions about how to download the video. For some reason, it just doesn't work for me. I spent over a half hour trying everything I could think of to get the "download this video" box to appear. Maybe it was there earlier today and isn't there now. Or, maybe there is something else that's different for you guys. Anyway, I'm still VERY happy that I finally got to see Stories From Home

TOUCHED, OK. I did not know YouTube had so many rules. Thanks for your effort. I was trying to help our broadband-challenged friends. -- Edited by karenweston at 12/12/2008 12:10 PM PST

aim your mouse at the upper right hand corner of the video and move it around. a box should pop up that says download and you click on it. -- Edited by karenweston at 12/12/2008 11:48 AM PST
