I heard this beautiful song by Shania Twain this morning and for some reason my thoughts went right to Gabriel..these lyrics say it all!! . ..talk about devine agony...ouch. http://bit.ly/4OJJPE I wish I were the sun shining on your face Caressing like a lover I would wrap you in a warm embrace We'd be holdin' one another Oh, I'm jealous of the sun "I wish I were the rain runnin' down your neck--and drippin' from your fingers Then I could be the drops rollin' off your back--I'd love to let it linger I'm jealous of the rain When it rains on your face-- I almost can taste Your beauty, your grace-- I'm jealous of the rain When the wind's in your hair-- the way it blows through the air Oh, it's seems so unfair, -- Edited by iamyuneek at 11/21/2009 11:54 AM PST

A Song For Mr. Gabriel Byrne BRIDGE OVER TROUBLED WATER By Simon & Garfunkel LYRICS When you're weary, feeling small When tears are in your eyes, I will dry them all I'm on your side When times get rough And friends just can't be found Like a bridge over troubled water I will lay me down Like a bridge over troubled water I will lay me down When you're down and out When you're on the street When evening falls so hard I will comfort you I'll take your part When darkness comes And pain is all around Like a bridge over troubled water I will lay me down Like a bridge over troubled water I will lay me down Sail on silver girl (boy) Sail on by Your time has come to shine All your dreams are on their way See how they shine When you need a friend I'm sailing right behind Like a bridge over troubled water I will ease your mind Like a bridge over troubled water I will ease your mind

If I was a guy I'd add this song to my list of songs to sing, but ... However, I think its a song Gabriel would like - it is so wonderful at evoking the yearning of youth. Its called "School Days" written by Loudon Wainwright the third (Rufus' dad) The radio show guy talks a bit, then the song starts. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g_8Ludnqh_c -- Edited by SarahFrances at 10/26/2009 2:35 AM PDT -- Edited by SarahFrances at 10/26/2009 2:45 AM PDT

Great idea posting the lyrics Neek. Now you all know how GB makes me feel... I get into a transe (spl?) everytime I hear this song A few years ago I was in a rot (again spl ?), feeling like I was dying or rather like I was falling asleep. I felt as though I had lost the essence of who I am. Then I met Mr. Byrne for a brief moment and looking into his eyes woke me up. Not unlike Kevin Spacey was brought back to life by Mena Suvari in American Beauty, Gabriel Byrne made me want to take control of my own life, have fun again... GB is MY teenage cheerleader covered in rose petals Kind of intense I know, but true. Hope you enjoy Rufus' song

I couldn't quite hear all the lyrics, so I looked them up. Wow thinking about Gabriels eyes when I read and listen evokes strong emotions. Im looking for the tower of learning Im looking for the copious prize I saw it in your eyes what Im looking for I saw it in your eyes what Im looking for I really do fear that Im dying I really do fear that Im dead I saw it in your eyes what Im looking for I saw it in your eyes what will make me live All the sights of paris Pale inside your iris Tip the eiffel tower with one glance Stained glass cathedrals with one glint You smashed it with your eyes What Im looking for One blink and then my heart wasnt there no more Im looking for the tower of learning Im looking for the copious prize http://www.lyricsfreak.com/r/rufus+wainwright/the+tower+of+learning_20119597.html -- Edited by iamyuneek at 10/04/2009 9:57 AM PDT

Whilst all our Emmy/red carpet exchanges have been going on this am, I was listening, as I usually do at work, to the Bay area classical station. A beautiful, mournful song, clearly Celtic started playing, similar to Miller's Crossing, just exquisite, and I thought, this is a song for Gabe this morning. When the DJ came back on he said it was a song written by James Galway and someone else for Natasha Richardson's birthday last year. Ironic, so sad and a beautiful piece of music for a beautiful woman, I'm sure Gabe knows of it, anyone else? Found it: An Cailin Fionn (Natasha) James Galway, Phil Coulter -- Edited by sweetbud at 09/21/2009 12:40 PM PDT
