The Capital Irish Film Festival will be December 10 - 20, 2009 in Washington, DC. Stories From Home is on the schedule. One of the ladies from the Threads has contacted them asking if Gabriel will be there. She received the following response: "We're currently trying to get Gabriel for the festival although it'll be hard as he goes home for Christmas and the festival is in December. We do have lots of other artists involved coming in though. Tickets are set to go on sale on October 5th. Facebook is acting up so I lost your message but I think I've answered all your questions. If not, just let me know! Thanks, Ronan" Anyone who would be thinking about attending this festival (especially if GB is there!) should email and inquire... Let's let them (AND HIM) know that we want him there!! Maybe, after the success of the LA screening, if he knows we want him, he'd arrange his Christmas travel schedule to accommodate the film festival ? Just a thought.... Does that sound like something he might consider? I'm hoping.... going to email now. Here's the website link... let me know if you have any problem navigating it. It appears they're working on a new site. http:/<wbr />/<wbr />www.<wbr />solasnua.<wbr />org/<wbr /> http:/<wbr />/<wbr />www.<wbr />solasnua.<wbr />org/<wbr />featuresponsor.<wbr />htm The Capital Irish Film Festival running 10th - 20th December 2009 at E Street Cinema, the Goethe Institut, Fort Fringe and Flashpoint Washington, DC

I got the news letter stating that the CIFF starts this week...my heart quickened and I'm not even going, you guys must be so freeking excited! On the left hand menu, the movie for December 20th ("the boys at st columb's" ) is listed as showing at 2 pm and 6 pm..which of course is incorrect. They did get the venue correct (the e street cinema) but at 6 pm it should say "stories from home, right? I did email Linda, (she is gonna get sick of hearing me complain heehee.) I know they are busy with few staff, but I bet they correct it fast december 20th, 2009 at 2pm the boys of st. columb's at the goethe institut december 20th, 2009 at 6pm the boys of st. columb's at e street cinema -- Edited by iamyuneek at 12/07/2009 9:13 AM PST

This is going to be so wonderful ... a whole movie with nothing but Gabriel in it, on the big screen.

The excitement is building!! I had been able to lead a semi-normal life for the last couple of weeks, lots of time at work and lots of time spent on those other unimportant things like home and family! I was able to push him out for up to 8 hours at a time (hard to believe, but true!, I was determined!!) But no more, just as always ....he's come crashing back with full force, I surrender once more! The east coast contingent is on the countdown. we are at 14 days and ready, oh so ready!

BTW, I saw it the year Jindabyne was presented. I attended the Q&A with GB and Laura Linney. I choked when it was time to ask my question and I asked it to Ms Linney instead of to MH ;-P because no english words would have come out of this french mouth other than : WILL YOU MARRY ME?! AnnaBlume, I feel your heart...you got wrapped in that Gabriel-glow and knew you just couldn't trust your heart not to overrule your sense. Gabriel is terrific in Q&As, just as one might expect. He's so intelligent and thoughtful, subtle and humorous, eloquent and charming, completely unaware of his rugged beauty...without looking like he's TRYING to be that way...it just oozes out of him...sweet soft-spoken Irish lilt and all, so I can see how you had to choke back a proposal. I hope the DC thread-Sistahs will be able to take your film recommendation to heart. Hopefully, we'll have an explosion of rich weigh-ins here when they return. Thanks, AnnaBlume.

Also showing at the Capital Irish Film Fest is : Boy A, on friday, december 18 at 7:30 pm. I don't know if any of you will be in DC by then but if you are, I highly recommand you try and catch that movie. I saw it 3 years ago at the Toronto film fest and it blew me away. I was left crying in the movie theater long after the credits had finished rolling. Crying but thinking too. As a mother, you can't see that movie and not wonder how you'd react, what you'd do... It's an amazing movie with some of the best acting I've seen in years and some of the best casting choices ever. Heavy stuff but valuable stuff too. Here's the info on the festival's Web site: http:/<wbr />/<wbr />www.<wbr />irishfilmdc.<wbr />org/<wbr />boya.<wbr />html BTW, I saw it the year Jindabyne was presented. If so, did you get anything when you did a Ctrl+V (paste) in the new Word document? (I ask because Alt+Print Screen should capture whatever window was active). Also, you should do nothing between Alt+Print Screen and Ctrl+V (or Edit>Paste) in Word, just to make sure that the clipboard contents are not overwritten by mistake.

Good looking out LL!! Hey Neek, I can't take credit...that was AnnaBlume who sleuthed the Film Festival advertisement. So deserved ladies!!!!! Amen and A-MEN!! Way to go, thread-Sistahs!! But I never got a thank you note like the rest of you, (that didn't really bother me) nor a ticket, but not to see my name on there either, makes me a bit sad. Neek, I totally saw your name on the list...look again, OK? Sorry don't mean to be a downer, it's still fantastic to see this!! No worries, Neek, but just take another closer look....you're IN there!! Congrats, Ladies...you have much of which to be proud. I'm certainly proud of you. So cool!!!

sweetbud, you can capture the screen and copy it into Word as a bitmap. The following instructions assume you are running Windows. 1) de-maximize the window and reduce the window size to frame the image you want to print. 2) Get a screen cap of the active window by doing ALT+Print Screen (press the Alt and Print Screen keys simultaneously). 3) Open Microsoft Word and paste the screen cap into the empty document by doing a CTRL+V or going to Edit>Paste. 4) Print the image by File>Print.
