Now that Gabriel has only one more year until he reaches 60 years of age,I would like to ask something of the people in these forums who have learned so much about him through his interviews and his actions. I would appreciate only one answer from each of you. Please don't let this become a contest of who is right and who is wrong, you are all entitled to your own opinions. If you wish to discuss it further please use another thread. I am curious what is one thing you think Gabiel still needs in his life that he does not yet have? Thank you

And thanks LL for your support. Yeah, well, freedom of speech is guaranteed under the US Constitution, and it's great to have poster and lurker friends feel free to express themselves. As long as we're adhering to HBO standards, post what you wanna post. They're the only recognized language cops on this message board. Keep doing you, Ruby. Besides, some of your postings wouldn't be as comical without the salty language...hahhahhaha....a welcome respite from term paper length pedantic ravings...even the ones I've been guilty of posting....I'm just sayin'..........

Exactly, Ruby. Paul DOES curse! Or I should have said, "For fook's sake!"

Of course, I also realize that what we want for other folks can sometimes be more than they want for themselves, so if that general malaise of his is working for him, then more power to him. Being a depressed person myself, I recognize that look. Hopefully, he has his outlet with his creativity and that is a buffer for it. And thanks LL for your support. For Christs sakes, Paul Weston curses! LOL -- Edited by rubyjtcat at 05/19/2009 5:40 AM PDT

Well, one thing we know is that Ruby is always good for some colorful language. Censorship is never fun....It's great that we can all express ourselves freely....so long as we don't violate the HBO standards. Wow, Ruby, you must have put something really, really provocative up there....reminds me of the time last season when you described some body parts and HBO yanked your posting. Back to topic: I'm not sure if Gabriel Byrne thinks he needs this, but I need for him to be less sad and more happy....dunno what that will take for him to get there, but I think he deserves more joy and happiness and I'd love to see him have that. Of course, I also realize that what we want for other folks can sometimes be more than they want for themselves, so if that general malaise of his is working for him, then more power to him.

; > Frankly.......if you were my therapist and took off > on me in that manner during a session, I"d walk out. Your statement presupposes that I would have accepted you as a patient. I tried to stay out of this fray, DSM4, but your last statement was too much. I don't understand how someone speaking as a psychotherapist could say something so snarky. I don't know how you meant to sound, but your last comment struck me as mean, vindictive, and hurtful. If you wanted so much to move on, why did you feel compelled to post such a provocative response? -- Edited by lauriejoan at 05/18/2009 4:57 AM PDT

This is a busy forum comprised of many interesting personalities and ideas. I think it is in both of our best interests to move on - at least that is what i intend to do.

who but his most close family, friends, priest (yes I do know he has no interest in the Catholic church anymore) could possibly know this? You know, IrishTinker, as insightful and intelligent as your comments were, I'm wondering if even THEY know what he needs? I think we might just consider that even HE might not know what he needs, hmmmm? Now, in the case of Gruffy, she has some special powers that let her know he needs her....but even with Gruffy's special powers, HE still might not know he needs her. This is a question that perhaps none of us can really answer....even Gabriel Byrne.

Just my opinion I think it was just a rhetorical question and not meant to be taken all that seriously

At first I started to respond to your question with what "Paul" needs until I realized you want to know what Gabriel needs (the real person).. who but his most close family, friends, priest (yes I do know he has no interest in the Catholic church anymore) could possibly know this? Such a personal question requires us to "know" Gabriel's private life.. and unless there are people here who do - I don't think anything we might come up with could possibly be helpful for Gabriel.. Just my opinion

I noticed that many of your posts contain expletives and/or controversial statements that in my opinion, seem to be chosen for their shock value or attention-getting properties (including your recent post which was understandably removed by HBO). How about taking the time to formulate a cogent discussion to convey your views and opinions instead of merely hurling expletives (which takes no thought or skill)? I think you might garner more self-respect and find that others would also be more receptive to your communication. That decision is yours alone to make . . . -- Edited by DSM4 at 05/17/2009 10:50 AM PDT Why do you even care what I say? I have no problems communicating with the members here. My communication was honest, assertive and directed towards Ruby. I will wait for his/her response, thank you. Also verbose and pompous. And I found your post insulting and condescending -- Edited by rubyjtcat at 05/17/2009 3:03 PM PDT Thank you Stella and Miss PDX Frankly.......if you were my therapist and took off on me in that manner during a session, I"d walk out. -- Edited by rubyjtcat at 05/17/2009 3:03 PM PDT -- Edited by rubyjtcat at 05/17/2009 3:06 PM PDT -- Edited by rubyjtcat at 05/17/2009 3:07 PM PDT -- Edited by rubyjtcat at 05/17/2009 3:26 PM PDT -- Edited by rubyjtcat at 05/17/2009 6:31 PM PDT
