In his 173 years on the earth, this vampire has seen more than his share of cruelty and violence - from humans and vampires alike. While he holds no illusions about his own existence, Bill has returned to his family home of Bon Temps hoping to reconnect with whatever humanity he's managed to retain. He never expected this attempt at mainstreaming to include romance, however; especially with a human girl just strange enough to accept him for what he is.

All I could think when Sookie was tearing through BT in her little yellow car after Bill bit Maryann was "NOOOO!!! Sookie can't drive because Anna can't drive!!" Totally took me out of the scene. LOL Hopefully she's driving legally and actually does have her license. How she's lived in LA this long without having a license I can't comprehend - I have to rent a car even if I'm only there for a day and a half. ~Lou

I bought P&P&Zombies to read at the beach this summer but never got around to it. It looks hysterical, and I'll definitely check out the Darcy tome when I'm done. Speaking of the lack of sexy-times in the Austen novels, have any of you read the books that add that stuff in? Crap! There's a "sequel" to P&P called Mr. Darcy Takes a Wife, and I swear it was written by the same people who write Penthouse Forum letters...but totally in Austen-speak, which is freaky. I couldn't even finish it, and I've read all kinds of filth. LOL I think that's one of the many, many things I love about Bill and Sookie. They have this gothic, crazy, at times OTT romance that could've come straight out of an Austen story - just add fangs... ...and then they can have this awesome down-and-dirty sex while still keeping that innocence (for lack of a better word) about them. I can still "aw" at them dancing and romancing, even though in the back of my mind I'm all "he banged her silly in graveyard dirt" and "they snowball blood." Talk about a couple that runs the gamut! ~Lou

Kind of insulting to just anoint Edward like that, but I guess that's one way to cut the bickering in the comments. Were there comments on this one? I forgot to look. I'm still remembering to vote for Anna & True Blood for the People's Choice award when I can. http://www.peopleschoice.com/pca/votenow.jsp Seems the intended of our favourite found time (since summer?) to get her driver's license. The main page at paquinanna.com shows a picture of Anna getting into the driver's seat of a darling little red car. Way to go! Something to check off her pre-wedding to-do list.

Fool4Blood (great name), thanks for the Mr. Darcy, Vampyre mention, I thought it was still to come but now I know I can already get it. I loved P & P and Zombies and highly recommend it if you can handle Jane Austen. I read somewhere it's been opted for a movie already. wishiwasanna, a big thank you for the NY LON link, I had it but lost it (unconscionable).

The absence of torrid sex scenes will not be a problem. I still blush a bit when I read the fanfic that is posted here. Edit: Dear Alan Ball. Just because I blush at reading graphic details doesn't mean I want to miss the opportunity to blush at seeing Bill's lovely nekkidness. Season three requires much more lovely nekkid Bill than you gave us in season two. Thank you. -- Edited by wishiwasanna at 12/07/2009 9:43 PM PST

There is actually a book: Mr. Darcy, Vampyre (published 2009 by Sourcebooks Landmark). It's written by Amanda Grange in the Jane Austen style so do not expect torrid sex scenes or graphic violence. If you are a Jane Austen fan... and you would not be reading this if you did not love vampires... it's an enjoyable read.

http://truebloodnet.com/vampire-obsession-part-bad-boy-complex/ This is a link to an article on vampires and the 'bad boy" obsession. I was surprised to find that rather than talk about criminal or biker-type bad boys, they used Mr. Darcy of Pride and Prejudice as an example. I thought "my Darcy was not a bad boy!", but they did go on to explain it pretty well. I guess it's all relative, set as it was in a simple country society, he didn't fit in and he certainly wasn't well liked. There's a book out now, which I haven't read yet, called Pride and Prejudice and Zombies. Clearly the author missed the opportunity to cash in further by not making it P & P & Vampires.

Love the pics against the fence with the backlighting. What does it say about me that my favourite pics of Stephen are always the ones where he has that gaunt, chiseled cheekbone look? That reminds me of Empathy, which I watched again recently. I love his Jimmy Collins look. He's just adorable in the scenes with his "daughter' Amy. -- Edited by wishiwasanna at 12/07/2009 8:24 PM PST

From the thumbnails Anna is stunning. And I always like a new pic of Stephen. One of them showed a little hint of Colin Firth. Loved him as Darcy (both new and old).

Believe it or not there's ANOTHER vote out there. People magazine, something like highlights of 2009 or not. Anyway there's a vote for second Hottest vampire. I guess Robert Pattinson is already considered #1. Just because I'd love another pic of Stephen in a national magazine, here's the link. We all know he's really NUMBER 1 but the way it's worded there's no other option. http://www.people.com/people/package/bestof2009/0,,20319348_20321736,00.html#flashpollsdivanchor
