In his 173 years on the earth, this vampire has seen more than his share of cruelty and violence - from humans and vampires alike. While he holds no illusions about his own existence, Bill has returned to his family home of Bon Temps hoping to reconnect with whatever humanity he's managed to retain. He never expected this attempt at mainstreaming to include romance, however; especially with a human girl just strange enough to accept him for what he is.

Never Let Me Go was good with all those sweet Sookie/Bill scenes (including the "my only desire is to keep you safe" (I just love his face there). But on the poll on the Vault it came in dead last. It even had the Eric/Godric flashback, so I was surprised that so few voted for it.

Season 2 provided lots of nice moments for Bill and Sookie but not nearly enough. AND they were all too short. Like the end of the episode I watched earlier. They're in bed, still (love it) and when Sookie starts kinda caressing Bill, he says 'Don't feel like you have to' and of course they just starting going at it. But then it's cut so short. I needed about 10 more minutes of viewing pleasure.

I don't like to keep harping on something that's negative but I can't get those awful pix out of my mind.
I keep thinking there's gotta be a way for the yellow journalists and paparazzi to be discouraged.
As much as I love to just soak up the pix of SM and AP, I kind of realize that it's me that contributes to them (and SM's cute little kids) being stalked.
I also realize it's only gonna get worse.

I was just re-watching parts of season 2. There was that one scene where Sookie and Bill are in bed (Yay, my faves always) after she has decided to infiltrate the FOTS and Bill is so worried for her safety saying 'if anything ever happened to you in that church' I mean I just felt like I could cry. He's just such an amazing actor. You could feel that he was sooo vulnerable at that moment , thinking he might lose her.

I have always said that Stephen is amazing at that Dr. Jeckyl and Mr. Hyde persona that Bill can, sometimes, be. He can take the audience from feeling all warm and fuzzy when he's being sweet with Sookie and the children. To sending chills down your spine killing Uncle Bartlett. This is why I hope against all hope that they continue to give Stephen a big role in TB in future seasons. He can take that character in so many different directions and keep it believable.

I think that Stephen Moyer is one of the best character actors on tv. That's why people can't believe that he's nothing like his character on TB, when they interview him.

Stephen has mentioned that he and Anna are bothered much less by the paps in London, so I can see them spending more time there as their schedules permit. I'd imagine the only reason they're still in LA now is because he's shooting "Priest" there.
I appreciate sites like The Vault which blur the faces of the kids, at least, or cut them out of the pics altogether. It makes me feel less guilty for looking at them.

I think they are sometimes so intent on styling Bill as the "Civil War vampire" that they forget to update his look naturally. The hair can be helmet-ish, for example, and the white make-up just has to go for everyone. It does no one any favors. Jessica and the Queen are okay since they have naturally fair skin, but for the others just work with the natural skin tone and don't slop on the clown paint.
I loooooved Bill's look in the first two episodes of this season especially, and again in the last three. In the middle was where they really got crazy with the hair and the make-up. And of course I really loved the rumpled, hungry look from the first 2.5 episodes of season 1, as well - he was pale, but no greasepaint in sight.
I was also glad to see the clothing return to normal late in season 2. Henley, leather jacket, jeans...and then that gorgeous suit and tie for the engagement dinner with Sookie.

I agree they made him look different. And that's weird considering season two was supposed to pick up in real time from season one, not like months or years should have passed. I think I'll always prefer the look from episodes 2 & 3, but anything from season one was better than Dallas. This season he looked different but so handsome in the first three and last three episodes, but the surpise of how he looked at the airport in Dallas made me go WTF? Still, I liked the different looks in the flash backs, and how sweet he looked in the Sookie scenes of Never Let Me Go.
And as you say, despite what they were trying out, I'd rather look at him and his face than any of the other guys on the show. Or any show for that matter.
