In his 173 years on the earth, this vampire has seen more than his share of cruelty and violence - from humans and vampires alike. While he holds no illusions about his own existence, Bill has returned to his family home of Bon Temps hoping to reconnect with whatever humanity he's managed to retain. He never expected this attempt at mainstreaming to include romance, however; especially with a human girl just strange enough to accept him for what he is.

Has everyone checked out the interview with Stephen on the vault. Wow! He just looks GORGEOUS! 8 minutes in heaven. That man is just getting better looking by the minute. Anyway I really loved this interview. It seemed like the interviewer ( with a French? accent) really liked the show and SM.

I remember hearing that, and it blew my mind that all of that turmoil could result in such a fantastic show. I wish we'd gotten "Cold Ground" commentary on the S1 DVD, but I guess this is a big reason why that didn't happen. Bummer. I guess it's like the actors who hate each other but end up combusting onscreen. If your director and cinematographer clash...perfection looms! LOL ~Lou

I love this episode for a lot of reasons but mainly as you say, Bill so clearly shows love in those scenes, not just curiosity or attraction. And certainly more than protectiveness based on obligation and duty.

Today in my dentist's waiting room I was flipping thru a mag and all of a sudden I see 'Hollywood's 10 Hottest couples" And of course who's there listed under hottest supernatural couple? Our fave Bill and Sookie. So I'm browsing their website to look for more Bill/Sookie info and there's this poll (yes, another freakin vote) for Hottest Vampire. And guess who's not listed. So Wrong in So many Ways. our very own Stephen Moyer. So if anyone has the time to correct a huge injustice. Feel free to comment. Who knows someone mite be listening. www.okmagazine.com/2009/11/readers-poll-you-pick-hollywoods-sexiest-vampire/ -- Edited by karakan at 11/11/2009 7:35 PM PST -- Edited by karakan at 11/11/2009 7:36 PM PST

This was definitely one of my favorite episodes ever. Specifically: every scene that Bill and Sookie were in together. I loved Bill's face when he ran into her bedroom after he dreamt that someone was choking Sookie. "don't worry it was just a dream. that's all" OMG. That face. And of course the blue blue eyes when Bill finally senses her running up the path leading to his house. Some of those scenes were the most emotional of the series. It's crazy to hear that there was this serious hatred between the director and cinematographer. How did that collaboration result in such great drama?
