In his 173 years on the earth, this vampire has seen more than his share of cruelty and violence - from humans and vampires alike. While he holds no illusions about his own existence, Bill has returned to his family home of Bon Temps hoping to reconnect with whatever humanity he's managed to retain. He never expected this attempt at mainstreaming to include romance, however; especially with a human girl just strange enough to accept him for what he is.

wishiwasanna, thanks for reminding us of this quote, I just love it and Lou thank you for the Link. I was reading an old interview last night - from this time last year. Raelle Tucker was talking about the show, and I liked the following quote: "And like many of the fans of the books, Vampire Bill was never my favorite character on the page. But when I saw Stephen Moyer at the first table read for the pilot, all of that changed. His stillness, his subtlety, that strange coldness in his eyes ? I was almost a little scared of him, until he put down his script, cracked a joke in this full-on British accent and smiled. That man is so ridiculously charming he could have chemistry with a brick wall ? but he and Anna together ? that kind of magic is something extremely rare and impossible to fake." I liked Bill in the first book, but he's wonderful on the show.

Somebody wrote somewhere that Stephen has already started filming some scenes. So somewhere, in CA (?), maybe even as I type this, Bill is back and his unbeating heart is aching for Sookie. I miss you Bill !

I haven't seen it for a while. I like it better than the one that was used on the cover where Anna's in the grey dress. -- Edited by wishiwasanna at 12/02/2009 8:29 PM PST

> Stephen Moyer to Host Friends Without a Border Gala > Event I hope the "Gala" part means we'll see Stephen in a tux again, preferrably with Anna on his arm this time. I'm relieved that I gave up on avoiding the spoilers, otherwise there wouldn't be much to look at for the next few months. The new Mrs Compton looks like she could have charmed our Bill back in the day. I am hopeful that they don't bring her in for just a qucik one or two minute scene. So many more blue eyes are being added to the cast. From looking at True Blood, one would never guess that blue eyes are such a minority in our population.

> Stephen Moyer to Host Friends Without a Border Gala > Event http://truebloodnet.com/stephen-moyer-host-friends-without-border-gala-event/ Unfortunately I can't be there...but hopefully we'll get some nice pics out of the deal. If TB started filming again today (so I've heard) I really want to see what Stephen's hair looks like! He was still a blonde when he left the set of The Caller, but I can't imagine he stayed that way. Such a great cause, and I'm glad to see Stephen supporting it! ~Lou

I love that interview with Raelle! Here's the link to the full interview, just in case others haven't seen it: http://www.sequentialtart.com/article.php?id=1156 I liked Bill in the books - at least until he disappeared - but it's nothing like what I felt when Stephen's Bill appeared on screen in the first episode. HELLO!! ~Lou

Good morning everyone! I am so excited they cast Bill's wife. I haven't seen the actress they cast in anything but she seems to have been in quite a few TV shows. I am so glad we will get to see more of Bill's back story.

I am going to try again. I did not mean that I didn't like Bill, of the vampires he is my favorite in the books as well as the show. I meant if Bill in the show were as reserved/unemotioanl as Bill in the books he would be harder to attach to. Because you'd be seeing and hearing him in contrast to the humans, the difference would be more apparent on TV. A good portion of the audience isn't there primarily out of an interest in vampires. Bill in True Blood is reserved and polite, but not so much so as to seem obviously other than human (except of course when the fangs come out to protect or taste Sookie).
