Bill Compton played by Stephen Moyer (1 - 5000)

In his 173 years on the earth, this vampire has seen more than his share of cruelty and violence - from humans and vampires alike. While he holds no illusions about his own existence, Bill has returned to his family home of Bon Temps hoping to reconnect with whatever humanity he's managed to retain. He never expected this attempt at mainstreaming to include romance, however; especially with a human girl just strange enough to accept him for what he is.

Out of all my years as a vampire fan, I finally found the ideal one in Bill! There will never be another one for me! That dichotomy you girls have been pointing out is right on! He IS the perfect Vampire, dare I say the perfect man?!

I will say this, Stephen's Bill is definitely more sensitive than book Bill, book Bill is more "vampire-ish" more of the time, even in his exchanges with Sookie.

I just got a response from People regarding my e-mail and this is what they said:

"If you have challenged a fact that was presented in PEOPLE, your letter will be routed to our Chief of Research, investigated, and you will receive a written response at a later date."

So maybe now we will get some facts.

Have to go now but I'll be back later tonight.

Have a great day everyone!

Morning joanm1225:

In episode 2, Bill told Sookie he was made vampire at 30 human years. There was a lot of debate back and forth about what he said. Some thought he said 32, but I think the majority thought 30. That's our story and we're sticking to it! LOL!

Very good post! I think we do need to remember that Bill IS a vampire and they can be pretty scary at times. He is showing his "softer" side with Sookie, but as we've seen while protecting her, can me a bad ass.

I loved the scene in Episode 7 when Bill found Sookie by Gran, was hugging her and Sam started slinking in. Boy of boy did the vamp come out there!

Good morning everyone!!!

Thank you so much about the article of Stephen in People Magazine!! I hope he is on People's Sexiest Man Alive list that comes out on Nov. 21.

When I read the article alot of questions popped into my head especially regarding his age. Most websites say he is 37, but in the People article it says 39. I'm just wondering if they had an interview with him or they just dig up whatever information they could find on him and printed it. Also it states he is a Libra, but no birthdate and yet on the so-called "Official Stephen Moyer website" it says his birthdate is Aug. 3, 1971 (Leo, 37).

So I decided to write to the editor of People Magazine to get answers so here is what I wrote:

"Dear Sir/Madam:

I have been watching True Blood and I have found the actor Stephen Moyer mesmerizing. His acting talent is amazing because he is able to convey so much information and emotions with eyes and his facial expressions that you know exactly what he thinking and "saying" with out him speaking. I truly wish he receives more exposure to the North American public because it is rare to find such a talented actor nowadays among the trashy "reality" stars ans so-called celebrities who get way too much exposure then they deserves (Paris Hilton, Nicole Ritchie for example, the list is huge). Please provide us with more information about him because there is a limited amount of information on him.

I noticed in your Nov. 5, 2008 magazine issue you have a one page photo of Stephen Moyer under "Sexy Man of the Week", however, I'm confused with some of the information that is stated there. You magazine states that he is 39 years old however, on various website it states that he was born in 1971 therefore he is 37 years old. Which one is right? Did you have an interview with him or which this information that you collected?

I know alot of fans would love to have an in-depth interview done on Stephen Moyer because he is still a mystery. What is his birthdate, how tall is he, what are is hobbies, what type of music does he like etc. These questions may seen strange to you, however, they would help his fans know what type of person he is.

I would greatly appreciate it if you could respond to some of my questions in this e-mail, particularly regarding his age and how the information was obtained.

P.S. Stephen Moyer should be voted as the Sexiest Man of the Year!

Thank you very much for taking the time to read my e-mail and I look forward to your reply."

Hopefully I get some type of response and when I do I'll let all of you know. Also I wrote to Anna's production company directly and I'm waiting for a response.

In the meantime I'm going to enjoy any articles I can get my hands on about Stephen and love him unconditionally!

Oh, I haven't heard from alot of you regarding the "Chapter" series I mentioned yesterday. Any comments?

Can someone tell me how old Bill was when he was made vampire? I know he tells Sookie in the 2nd episode when they are walking after he saved her life, but I can't figure out what he's saying, for the life of me. I thought he said 33 but I'm not sure. Did anyone else figure out what he said?

Thanks for the link. Do you all notice in the article in the comments a pic of Anna and Stephen taken last month walking down the street in LA (this may be the same night as the TB Premier). I also found 5 more of the pics on anna-paquin.net

Okay, so I watched Burning House of Love for the umpteenth time last night, and I truly realized Moyer is a superb actor. As the episodes progress, we see more and more of his true vampire self, and how he can change from his "human" self, or what he remembered as being human, to being a vampire. When Sookie and Bill were in the bathtub as he was holding her after she told him about her child-molesting uncle, vampire was written all over his face. I look at Bill as being a very tragic figure, a man who is no longer human but he is young enough in his vampire years to remember what it was like being human, and all the human feelings, including love. Having Sookie in his life brings out his humanity. However, his vampire self is getting to be a little scary, but no matter what, I love the character.

I agree. I laughed when I read the title and immediately thought of the Fantasia scene. Too funny!
