Episode 19: Release Me

Betrayed by Daphne, Sam finds himself in an unenviable predicament at the hands of Maryann and her zombie minions. Imprisoned with Hugo at the Light of Day camp, Sookie uses her telepathic powers to reach out to Bill, who's being detained at the hotel by a stubbornly obsessive Lorena. After crossing a church line, a fearful Jason tries to sever his ties with the Fellowship of the Sun, but gets plenty of resistance from Steve and his lackey, Gabe.

So tired of the moaning about TB vs. the books. Not everyone has read the books. Not everyone cares about the books. I *tried* to read the books, but not being a 12 year old girl, found them to be excruciatingly badly written.

I am trilled that Alan Ball has turned this series into something more intelligent and adult and hasn't felt bound to the books. I would love to see the plot diverge from the books enough that the bookies just have no basis for argument anymore.

Yeah, that's my take on this. After Season One, I did read the first Sookie Stackhouse book, found it entertaining, but decided not to read any more until after the SERIES is over, not just the next season. Why spoil it for myself, and others?!? So, book fans, PLEASE quit ruining it for the rest of us. If we were just discussing a book or books, would you jump ahead and talk about chapters that hadn't been assigned yet? It's disrespectful and discourteous.

Thank you,

M

Can you fill us in on "Dionysus's wild women"? - I wiki'd and just don't have the time. I didn't notice the close up on the book until someone mentioned it here, and clearly there is some foreshadowing going on there.

Also why wasn't Sookie more concerned with whatever language she heard in Maryanne's head (that may have been last week actually).

I highly recommend reading the books. Bills not what you think he is.

Well. TB is definately NOT the books. On the show, I don't think any of us really know what either Eric or Bill is for that matter. The show has already given us plenty of reason to think that we should hate Eric, and now it's showing us that Bill hasn't always been the angel that we thought he was.

But it's too early to tell and I'm not sure the books are a reliable source at this point.

Who knows what either Eric or Bill is really up to. So far, Sam's the only sup that's reading like an open book - and I strongly suspect that might change as well.

Of course Maryanne is definately up to no good. For me, she's like amy of last season. I just want her dead dead dead.

There are 2 sets of previews. The 1st set is the previews that come directly after the credits. Like always, these previews pertain directly to next week's episode.

There is a 2nd set of previews that gave some sneak peeks at what will come for the remainder of the season. I DVR'd the episode last nite and do believe the "2nd" set of previews came very near the end of the hour. It is during these previews that you see Eric greet Godrick as "father" and also see him chained to the cross.

I think Sam can only turn into something that he has seen recently.

Honestly that was kind of why I didn't buy the books this weekend. I had it in my hands at Borders and I am pretty sure I would devour them (puns were the highest form of humor at one time) but I don't want to ruin the suspense of the show.

I love the show...and all the changes to this point with one exception which I have pointed out. That's all. I fully do not expect the show to follow the books perfectly. I'm just expressing my opinion on the Lorena Bill relationship. Which I think is the point of using the boards. To express ones opinions about the show and what one does and doesn't like yes?

In fact I like Tv Show Tara so much that I hate book Tara now. Lafayette is also a personal fav. I nearly lost it at the end of Season one because I was terrified they would kill him off. AB is a brilliant man and I've been a huge fan of his for years and watched all this stuff.
