I agree, no person/person's work should be defined by anyone they've dated, irrelevant as far as I'm concerned. (Personal experience )

I don't much care who dates Skaarsgaard - it's his life. Anyway, it's Eric I am captivated by. I don't even know this Skaarsgaard fella.
I don't think less of Evan Rachel Wood for dating Marilyn Manson either. I like him as a person. He's very intelligent. His stage persona is exactly that.

Franky, I'm going to reserve my opinion of ERW till next season. She is gorgeous but I did find her delivery a little odd. TB has cast some really fine actors so I find it difficult to believe that they would give her the role if they didn't think she could play it properly. Both actors playing the Newlins were great. The only one I haven't been charmed with has been Chow, but he wasn't very important. Daphne was awesome and of course Michelle and Mechad were great so I don't see them casting ERW just for her looks!! She will be fairly important if the shows continue and her role could easily be expanded.

Sorry if you were offended by the way I talk about EWWW but I just don't like her. The first thing I ever heard about her was that she wrecked Marilyn Manson's marriage. He's a dog but I kinda liked Dita Von Teese and I generally don't like homewreckers. After that all I've ever caught about her is news about her latest sexcapade, until The Wrestler and I only heard she did that because of all the talk about Mickey Rourke. She just seems to be one of these good-looking girls who is short on talent and is trying to sleep her way to the celebrity A-list. She's been with a string of weirdos, has beens and wannabes and then she lands Alexander Skarsgard??? WTF?
Sorry but he can do better and just when he's rising rapidly to that A-list himself is not the time to pick up a scoop of EWWW and rub it all over himself. You pick a nice girl like AP. Of course it's probably true the fans will not be truly happy with anyone even though it's not going to be one of us but you haven't seen me posting anything about Kate Bosworth have you? Different league altogether even if she tends to hook up with her current co-stars.

Every time I hear the song "I want you" by Third Eye Blind, I wish that the producers would use it for an episode of True Blood. It's a great song, and would be a good fit for True Blood. I know they like to use local musicians for the show, but this would be a great exception to the rule. (maybe a background song at Fangtasia):

When I said people hate her, I guess I was talikng about the Eric Lovers on both of the Eric Threads. There is some mad, wicked hatred for ERW on both of those threads, which I find a little silly. Most of that hatred seemed to come after the rumors that AS and ERW hooked up. Whatever. Frankly, I believe that most of the Eric Lovers will never like anybody that AS might date. Which is ridiculous, because he is a very attractive, SINGLE man, and he is going to date a lot of women. AND IT IS NOT GOING TO BE ANY OF US, so some people should just get over it. Having a fantasy is one thing, but, MY GAWD, the mean hateful things said about ERW are just awful. This is not highschool.

I think saying everyone hates the character because of the actor's personal life is a bit broad. Personally I never heard of ERW until TB, and I know nothing of her personal life. I base my opinion on what I've seen on screen so far, and I'm not that impressed, but I think most of that is due with how the TB character is written and some of that is influenced by the book character who I found much more compelling.
I'm willing to wait and see if TB can improve this character. They did it with Jessica so there's hope. Maybe once the queen is not used primarily as an expository device, she might become interesting.

Ok, I'm probably never going to read Charlaine's books, in much the same way people who watched Shawshank Redemption or The Green Mile are going to read Stephen King, so please, don't condemn anyone who hasn't read the books as not having a credible opinion!!! In the past I thought both these movies enough incentive to SK, but not everyone's on the same page regarding entertainment.
I don't care how the characters were in the books, and/or if the series is deviating from it. I really enjoy this show, and would kill to be an extra (maybe they should run a competition for that). I want to see them expand their storylines for next season in as much crazy directions as they can.
I also really want them to do something with Bill's hair, it's been really bugging me all of Season 2. Also, if Jessica's virginity grew back (giggling madly), why didn't Eric's hair grow back after being cut?
Tangent Question: Wouldn't vamps coming out of the closet virtually put plastic surgeons out of business? I mean, think of it, you're an aging movie star, your get one last stop at the chop shop, everything nipped, tucked, lasered and trimmed - offer a vamp major compensation to turn you (Pamela Anderson for example) into an eternal icon, albeit no more tanning salon and running in the midday sun on the beach, but y'know, they've got spray booths, they can CGI blue skies, there'll be no worries about dieting...

I know everyone hates her because supposedly she is/was dating AS and people think she is a skank because she dated Marilyn Manson. I don't think that is fair. She is a very young woman who will make a lot of mistakes - AS WE ALL DO -
She is not what I pictured for QSA, but we haven't seen all that much of her yet. And I thought when she attacked Eric and threatened him, you could see the crazy in her. Just like AB said, nobody will ever be really happy to see her. She is a wacko. I thought ERW portrayed that perfectly. Give her a little time, i think we will all be surprised.

I can't remember where I read it but ERW said that she loved the show and called Alan Ball and asked him for a role. He said he had nothing so she asked him to call her if anything came up and she got a call soon after for Sophie Ann which she accepted without reading the script.

you know what they say about power corrupting, and the young and immature r much more suseptable to this. eric is 1000 years old and only a sheriff, yet SA is only 400 and already a queen. therefore its really no surprise that she acts like a spoiled little brat most of the time.

I seem to be somewhat in the minority on this board, but I like Sophie Anne. I haven't read the books, so I have no preconception - perhaps that is part of it. I don't know.
But, if you think about it, wouldn't 400 year old royalty be a bit debauched, even vapid? Think of the caricatures people had of Marie Antoinette - who became queen very young also, and frivolously spent while people starved. Make Marie Antoinette a vampire, and we have the tv series' version of Sophie Anne.
